THANKSGIVING FLEX 🦃💪

It’s easy to assume everyone loves the holiday season however that’s not always the case, so I’d like offer something if you find yourself in one of those positions.

FLEXIBILITY

This theme as been showing up for me since learning of the passing of my maternal grandmother this past weekend. As a result, a lot of impromptu shifts have had to occur around existing plans, schedules, work, travel and… Thanksgiving.

The way people have shown up for me, and how I’ve allowed them to, has created the opportunity to be reminded that love looks many different ways. The flexibility of others and myself has created a peaceful, flowing space where everyone gets to do what’s best for them, free of any hurt, anger and/or taking it personally.

And while these sudden life changes usually precipitate flexibility, it also serves as a reminder that we all get to create that ease from a place of love for ourselves first, then others.

My wish is that you get your Thanksgiving Flex on in a way that supports you, and that you have a holiday that feels best for you!

𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗬𝗢𝗨’𝗥𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙, 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗕𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗦

For the longest time I wanted to dye my hair purple. I first fell in love with it when Nicole Richie did it YEARSSSSSSS ago but I was afraid to do it: “what would people say? “is it unprofessional?” “am I too old for this?” were just a few of the considerations that went through my mind… FOR. YEARS.

Finally, one day, I decided I was going to do, sort of. My stylist worked her magic and eased me into it by doing something very light and NOT very permanent and I WAS IN LOVE! I was so much in love that I went back a few weeks later and had her do it 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭. Since then my hair has been purple, pink, creamsicle and green and it’s been the complete 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚 of what I thought it would be.

It’s opened up conversations with strangers, it’s empowered other women to take the leap on things they’ve been wanting to do, I smile when I hear children tell their mommy to look at the lady with the green hair, and it’s never interfered with my career.

What I’ve noticed is that the more I am true to 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 and the things I want for myself, the more those around me feel free to do the same for themselves. By giving myself permission to embrace what I want- even if it’s just to try it and say I did it- it gives 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 permission to embrace themselves. The more I show up authentically the more it shows others that they get to, too.

So, if you’ve been waiting to do something THIS is your permission, because when you do you will inspire others and feel more complete about who you are and what you have to offer the world.
