Awesome practice today! Even with the rain, we had well over a dozen folks show up to fight under the pavilion!

Medieval Combat Practices are kicking up again for the 2026 year!!

EVERY TUESDAY from 6-8pm Billie Creek there will be sword fighting practice hosted by Annie Frith. We will meet up at the pavilion. Rain or shine, warm or cold, we will still gather.

No experience or gear required. Water bottles, clothing suited to the weather, protective gloves and kneepads are recommended.

You must be over 18 to sign the waiver. Children under 18 must have a parent/guardian present and sign the waiver for them. The main practice and fighting field will be for adults to combat each other, so small children will NOT be mixed in among us.

This is free weekly activity and new fighters are always welcome to show up and try for their first time!

This year, starting tonight’s practice, and continuing throughout the year… I’m implementing the legendary training tactic used by Bridge 4 from stormlight archives:

STEW.

Come to practice and there shall be stew afterward. If you wanna throw a couple bucks my way, ya can. If not, it’s offered freely. Just help with chopping veggies and dishes. I’ll also have a thing of plane white rice ready for those who don’t like/have dietary restrictions.

I purchased a HUGE 9qt insta pot to cook it in…. And call dibs on the leftovers for lunch throughout the week.

Meet up at the pavilion today during normal practice time!

We will do a bit of warmups and fighting at 6:00, then, at 7:00, I’ll give out belt flags and share the legend of Sadie, so our realm mascot may be immortalized in belegarth legend.

If, for our very first practice, in the cold and rain, we had NINE people show up... I'm super excited to see the turnout next Tuesday when it is supposed to actually be nice out!
