ONE DAY, SHE WON'T NEED YOU TO DRIVE HER TO SOFTBALL ANYMORE. 🥎❤️
Right now, it probably doesn't feel that way.
There are cleats by the door.
Softballs rolling around the trunk.
A folding chair that practically lives in the car.
And another weekend where the alarm goes off way earlier than any reasonable human being should be awake.
Sometimes we're tired.
Sometimes we're frustrated.
Sometimes we wonder how our entire family calendar became organized around one girl's softball schedule.
But somewhere between the early mornings and the late drives home, something is happening that we don't notice enough.
She's growing up.
One season she needs you to carry her bag.
Then she's carrying it herself.
One season she's looking through the fence to make sure you're watching.
Then suddenly she's driving herself to practice.
There will be another tryout.
Another tournament.
Another season.
Until one day…
there isn't.
And when that day comes, we probably won't miss the tournament fees.
We won't miss washing dirt out of white softball pants.
We definitely won't miss sitting through a 95-degree doubleheader. 😅
But we'll miss watching her.
So let her chase the position.
Let her dream about playing in college.
Let her struggle sometimes.
Let her figure things out.
Cheer loudly when she needs it.
Stay quiet when she needs that too.
Because this was never supposed to be our softball journey.
It was always hers.
We were just lucky enough to get a front-row seat for a little while.
And someday, that may be the part we miss most. ❤️🥎
Let it be her ride.
