For generations, baseball fans have dreamed of stepping onto the fields inspired by the legendary movie. Now it's our boys' turn to make memories, play the game they love, and chase their dreams on one of the most magical stages baseball has to offer.

As the famous line from the movie reminds us:

"If you build it, he will come."

Well, the fields are built, the bags are packed, and the Hitmen are coming.

This weekend isn't just about wins and losses. It's about teammates becoming brothers, families making memories, and young ballplayers experiencing something they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

"The one constant through all the years has been baseball."

And that's exactly what brings us together once again.

The boys have battled through rain, heat, and tough competition all season long. Now they get the opportunity to play where dreams truly come alive.

"Go the distance."

Let's fill the stands, cheer loud, and watch these gritty young ballplayers write their own chapter in baseball history.

📸⚾ HOMETOWN HEROES CLASSIC PHOTO ALBUM IS LIVE! ⚾📸

What a weekend for the Quad City Hitmen Premier 9U! The boys battled hard, played with heart, and represented the Hitmen family with pride at the Hometown Heroes Classic.

We've uploaded photos from this past weekend's tournament so families, friends, and fans can relive all the action—from big hits and clutch plays to outstanding defense and unforgettable team moments.

The tournament was unfortunately cancelled on Sunday during our first bracket play game due to field conditions from torrential rain, so the boys weren’t able to finish out bracket play on the field. Even so, their performance from the weekend carried them through—and they ended up finishing as Runner-Up in the 10UA bracket. 🥈⚾

Thank you to all of our players, coaches, families, volunteers, and supporters who made the weekend a great experience. We couldn't do it without you!

The boys are getting a well-deserved weekend off to recharge — even if some of them are grumbling about it! They’ve earned this break and are going to come back absolutely fired up!
We’re back in action on June 19th at the legendary Field of Dreams in Dyersville!

What a weekend for the Quad City Hitmen Premier 9U!

The boys came to play on their home field’s at the Hometown Heroes Classic and put together an outstanding weekend, finishing a perfect 3-0 in pool play and earning the #2 seed heading into bracket play on Sunday while playing up to 10U. The confidence was high, the dugout was buzzing, and this team looked ready for a deep championship run.
Then Mother Nature stepped in.
After an initial rain delay pushed the start of bracket play back, the Hitmen took the field and wasted no time making a statement. In Game 1 of the three scheduled for the day, the bats came alive early as the boys exploded to a 6-1 lead in the first inning. The offense was firing on all cylinders, the defense was locked in, and the Hitmen looked every bit like a team with their eyes on the trophy.
Unfortunately, the skies opened up once again in the bottom of the second inning, forcing play to be suspended before the inning could be completed. Despite everyone's efforts to wait it out, the torrential rain never let up. After battling through the elements and spending much of the day dealing with delays, tournament officials were forced to cancel the remainder of the tournament as the fields became too saturated to safely continue play.
While the tournament didn't end the way we hoped, these boys have plenty to be proud of. They played tough, competed hard, and proved all weekend long that they belong among the top teams in the field.
Sometimes the weather wins, but it can't take away what this group accomplished. The Hitmen finished the weekend undefeated, played some outstanding baseball, and showed the grit, heart, and determination that define this team.
Now it's time for a well-earned weekend off before turning our attention to one of the most exciting events of the season—Field of Dreams!
Way to battle, boys. The future is bright, and we're just getting started.

The boys battled through the heat and humidity to go 3 for 3 and getting the #2 seed in pool play.
