Since 1877, Elmer Hinckley Fishing Tackleg Tackle has been handcrafting fishing spoons right here in New York.
We had the opportunity to step inside “The Lure Lab” with current owner Pete D’Urso to learn the incredible history behind one of America’s oldest fishing lure companies, how these legendary spoons were originally created from silver teaspoons, and why anglers still trust them today over 145 years later.

Midday panfish fishing on Honeoye Lake was supposed to be slow… until Nick Petrou started dialing in the LiveScope. 🎣
What followed was nonstop action with crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, and even a bass mixed in. Watching fish react in real time on sonar was hands down one of the most interesting parts of the day.

Midday panfish fishing on Honeoye Lake was supposed to be slow… until Nick Petrou of Natural Outfitters started dialing in the electronics and everything changed.
What started as a tough bite turned into nonstop action with crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, and even a bass mixed in. Watching fish react in real time on LiveScope was hands down one of the most interesting parts of the day.

🎣 Niagara River Fishing Report – 5/8/26 🎣
Presented by Let’s Catch Fish Nation – Anglers Helping Anglers

📍 Ontario Street / Riverside Park
Walleye are being caught in approximately 18–23 feet of water off Ontario Street near Riverside Park on the Niagara River. Anglers are also picking up the occasional perch, although sizes are currently unknown.

📍 Hertel Ave / Black Rock Canal Lock
South of Ontario Street near the Black Rock Canal Lock, anglers are reporting silver bass along with a few walleye.

📍 Canal Lock Area
At the actual canal lock, anglers are finding one or two walleye mixed in with the occasional musky.

The historic Black Rock Canal has long been a productive stretch of the upper Niagara River and continues to hold spring fish as water conditions change throughout the system.

Here’s a recap of the Powder Mills Trout Derby — April 2026.
Great to see so many kids and families out on the creek catching stocked trout and enjoying one of Rochester, NY’s best local fishing events.
The Powder Mills fish hatchery plays a big role in making this possible, with support from the Riedman Foundation — helping keep this tradition going year after year.

🏆 Big congratulations to Lucio Tuttobene on winning the Kids 8 & Under Division at yesterday’s Powder Mills Park Tournament! 🎣🐟

Lucio landed an awesome brown trout weighing 2.84 lbs and measuring 18¼ inches to earn the top spot.

Lucio was out there making memories alongside his dad Kenny Tuttobene and great uncle Mike Rogers, making the win even more special.

Moments like this are what fishing is all about — kids outdoors, building confidence, family traditions, and enjoying the excitement of the catch.
