Desert Rhythms consists of women from many walks of life brought together by the love of Middle Eastern dance and music.

💫Since we’ve got some new followers here and we haven’t done an introduction in awhile, we feel now is the perfect time!

👋 Hi, we are Desert Rhythms Belly Dance Troupe (previously Bal Aziza) and we’ve been performing all over Western New York for over 40 years.

👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ Our group of ladies has been a revolving door. Many have come and go, many have stayed. It makes our troupe rich in history, talent and growth.

💃🏽 We are all from different walks of life and backgrounds but our love for belly dance strings us together. Every one of us is at a different stage in our belly dance journey but we will always be learning.

🧑Our troupe is based on a sisterhood of trust, loyalty, commitment, enthusiasm and acceptance. Everyone contributes and we all hold each other accountable. It’s one of the things that sets our troupe apart.

💃🏽 Our choreography is American Cabaret style base but infuses Tribal, Turkish and Egyptian styles.

🧑‍🏫 We teach classes both in our studio and specialty workshops. Anyone is welcome to reach out to inquire. We may be able to come to you!

🪘We love to perform! We are at many events in the area but you can also hire us for a private event!

⭐️ It’s not always practice makes perfect. We believe that practice makes progress.

We’ve learned as a group to lean on each other for support and to continue growing our belly dance abilities.

👉 Our ESL Rochester Fringe Festival show will be a showcase of the love we have for this art form.
