ORR TURF

ORR TURF We are working to upgrade the outdoor recreational facilities in our Old Rochester / Tri-Town community. This is where the Tri-Town gathers.

TURF is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization comprised of citizens of Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester who want to make the Tri-Town Community Athletic Complex at ORRHS SAFER and more effective. The fields are in deplorable condition; we can do better. We all choose to live in the Tri-Town for a reason: Quality of Life. Let's renew this area and have a space we can be proud of and better utilize!

BREAKING NEWS: Arnie Johnson announces support of Restore ORR project.

We are delighted to announce that one of Rochester's most influential leaders, Arnie Johnson, has announced his support of Restore ORR:

"I am all about spending money smartly. We can all agree the facilities are unsafe. The health and safety of the kids is critical, so these facilities have to be upgraded.

The Restore ORR plan does have revenue generation and I like that these revenues will be put toward future capital expense. I have confidence that this plan is a smart one moving forward. This is a great model for future projects. I fully support Restore ORR."

This is the last day to Absentee Ballot in Rochester. Do it this morning if you need to. OR we will see you at the polls at the Senior Center tomorrow (Wed the 10th) starting at 8am!

Marion and Mattapoisett are in...we in Rochester can't blow this opportunity to not only fix dangerous, depleted conditions for the kids, but also set a course in motion where we can generate revenue for future capital needs. It is a business-like approach to creating solutions. Let's not wake up the morning after the election wondering if we could have done just a little bit more. Don't be 'that guy.' :) Let's get it done for our kids and our community, Rochester!

Believe it or not, there are a few people actually putting "vote no" signs on their lawn, opposing the $35 annual fee it would take to make the field, track and auditorium safe for kids at ORR. Please urge your Rochester friends to get out to vote July 10 or fill out an absentee ballot on Tuesday (tomorrow). Please do not wake up on July 11th wondering if you could have done more. A 'no' vote would set these items back years and put the ORR athletic program at risk. That is not an exaggeration. Do NOT assume your vote isn't necessary. YOUR VOTE IS CRITICAL. Get on the phone/text/email and social. Let's finally make Restore ORR a reality. Give ORR kids what they need to do great things!

"We're on to Rochester." See you at Town Meeting tonight, 7pm, RMS. Your vote might be the one that moves this critical project forward. Please be there. Thanks!

MARION — Friday's town election said yes to three debt exclusion ballot questions that will boost the average property tax bill by over $200

05/20/2019

If you read today's Standard-Times' story about the 2:1 Marion vote to allow Restore ORR to move forward...it has the incorrect annual cost for the average Marion homeowner. The correct figure is $25.11/year for 15 years. Under $20 in Mattapoisett and under $35 in Rochester.

See you tonight at Rochester's Town Meeting (7pm at RMS) and see you at the polls in Mattapoisett tomorrow (Tues 8a-8p). YOU might have the deciding vote...so please be there. Thanks!
