Saturday December 14 in Slidell saw Speedway Slot Car Racings awesome facility open early at 8:00 (Thanks David).
Several of the traveling racers were there Friday night, practicing, testing and tuning.
Racers from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama came together for some great competition in 4 classes.
Hawk 25s drew 11 racers on the Ogilvie Tri Oval.
Fast Guys Larry Stoker and James Doris set the pace with Greg G lurking on the outside lanes.
The race got a bit rough around the fifth segment but Greg was able to dodge the most wrecks and took the win over John Clow with James Doris third.
We took an hour for lunch and then it was time for NASCAR on the King.
Another 11 racer round robin got going on the King with 3 sit outs to Marshall and a couple of much appreciated volunteers.
Locals Larry Stoker and Kevin Keys took off with Bud Greene, Dave Mader and John Clow flying as well.
Larry set a blistering pace with his Budweiser Titan And took the win with John Clow second and Kevin Keys third.
LMP drew another 11 racers along with some awesome looking cars.
This was one exiting race with multiple lead and position changes, power on pit stops and general shenanigans. John Clow kept it together to take the win. Dave Mader was fast and consistent for second and Greg clawed his way back onto the podium after falling to fifth.
The final and fastest class of the day. GT12 or Open 12 drew five tired but enthusiastic Speed Crazed Maniacs.
The race started with Bud GREENE taking off in the lead chased by Milton Gamble, Dave Mader, John Clow and Greg G.
John stayed close to Bud as the field spread out. Bud ran into mechanical trouble and dropped back. Greg’s car kept getting better and better and before long Greg opened up a 17 lap lead over John.
That’s when things got interesting. With approximately 40 seconds left in the race Greg’s motor died. Could John do it?
John knew if he came off it was over, but went fast and made up 17 laps. He came up about 50’ short leaving Greg in First, John Clow second and Dave Mader third.

Thanks to Speedway Slotcar Racing and David Probst for the great facility.
Big, Big thanks to all that attended and supported our organization.

Merry Christmas!!
