Game Day Thunderbirds!!! Our season opener is this evening at Spence Eccles Sports Complex off of Monroe Blvd at 7:00 pm under the lights. The boys have been putting in the work now it’s time to show it on the field.

this definition really hit me...discipline is one of the pillars of UMA lacrosse. For our players to get better and be ready to compete we ask them to commit to waking up early and practice I. The wee hours of the morning. I know very few if any love this, but they know it is necessary for them to make the team and be ready to start games in early March. I could not be more proud of the players and coaches that make this commitment! Keep it up Thunderbirds!!!

UMA lacrosse family,
What another great week of practices under our belts. This is going to be an exciting season as we move another week closer to the official start of the season. Thank again to Josh Stout for coming out and really working on our shooting and ball handling skills. We will continue to push as work to improve our skills set and IQ. Hope you all have a great weekend and keep those sticks in your hands.

I wanted to shoot out a quick reminder we have Josh Stout coming out again tomorrow morning and Thursday, please try and be there, these sessions are invaluable. Coach Stout brings that next level coaching ability.

Another big ticket item I need everyone’s help with...register my athlete. Please get in the system and begin your registration. We are getting ahead of the game, but my deadline is to have all our players in the system by the end of the month. That means by the end of the week. This shows the school what our numbers look like and that we have a viable program. Our rockstar coaches are working hard to bring even more guest coaches in, keep watching for more updates coming soon...

What an asking opportunity for our UMA boys this morning. We have been holding morning practices at 6 am and today Josh Stout came and put our guys through some shooting drills, helping us to reach that next level. The boys work hard this morning and showed great improvement across the board from our new players to our seasoned vets. Huge shout out to Coach Stout for the help!

UMA Lacrosse family,

I hope you all had an amazing winter break and rested up ready for 2021. We are planning on beginning our morning practice sessions on Tuesday from 0600-0730. We will hold these practices Mon-Thurs morning each week. These practices are critical for us to begin to gel as a team and work on our fundamentals to be ready for the season. Our schedule is set and we begin our season in March which is right around the corner. I am also planning on opening up Register My Athlete this week so we have time to get everyone in the system and physicals done.

A big ticket item is COVID testing, that is why we need to wait until Tuesday to begin. Every player and coach needs to be tested every 14 days. Testing will take place tomorrow so it is important for players to have their consent forms filled out and tested tomorrow or they will not practice.

I am excited for this season, we are growing as a program and that is because of you all! Let me know if you have any questions.

UMA lacrosse has kicked off its open net days Tuesday’s and Thursday’s last week. We have had an amazing turn out. I am super excited for this up coming spring season. Weigh the addition of Davis and Weber school districts to sanctioned lacrosse we have been realigned to Region 10, which includes Waterford, Judge Memorial, Juan Diego and Cedar Valley High School. This will be an an exciting year. Keep an eye out as we are looking to kick off our yearly fund raising campaign here in the next week so we can hopefully complete out full set of new helmets and varsity uniforms.
