State Championship weekend is here.

Our teams have spent the last several months getting ready for this. Not just the games, but the practices, lessons, long tournament weekends, car rides, and all the moments that make up a season.

The format is straightforward: two pool games on Friday, then a double-elimination bracket on Saturday and Sunday.
Win and keep playing.
Lose twice and your season is over.

No matter what happens this weekend, we're proud of the work these players, coaches, and families have put in to get here.

If you have a player, team, coach, or Goatheads family you're cheering for this weekend, drop them some encouragement in the comments. Let's fill this post with good luck messages before the first pitch is thrown.

Good luck to all of our Goatheads teams. See you at the ballpark. ⚾🐐

🐐 10U Thompson – GOATs of the Weekend

Xander & Lucas

In the biggest game of the regular season against a tough Arsenal team, both Xander and Lucas came through with perfectly placed bunts that helped spark the offense. Both ended up scoring and helped push Thompson into the lead late in the game.

Not every big moment comes from a home run or extra-base hit. Sometimes it’s the small things done well at the right time.

Both guys stepped up and executed.

Noah

Noah’s weekend was about sticking with it.

After battling through some cold stretches this season, he kept working and never let frustration take over. In the final game of the regular season, that work paid off in a big moment when he delivered a huge 2-run double that helped put the game out of reach.

You could see how much it meant to him and to the team.

Good way to close out the regular season. 🐐⚾

Proud of these boys and the way they battled this weekend in Flagstaff at the Triple Crown Memorial Day Classic.

After a rough start in pool play, 11U Ortiz kept competing, regrouped on Monday, and finished second out of eight teams in the Silver Bracket. They even faced a championship team that included the sons of two MLB All-Stars, which made for a pretty cool experience for the kids.

What stood out most, though, was how every player contributed in some way over the weekend. Big hits, pitching, defense, energy in the dugout, picking each other up. It was a full team effort.

A really fun weekend of baseball with a great group of players, coaches, and families. 🐐⚾️

Aiden

After falling behind 0–2 in the count, Aiden battled back and launched a 3-run home run for the first homer of his career.

It was a big moment and a great swing.

It's pretty safe to say there will be more coming. πŸ’£βšΎπŸ

🐐 9U Dusseau – GOATs of the Week

Todd
Todd was steady behind the plate all weekend and did a great job handling things defensively. He also showed good awareness on the bases and kept the pressure on.

Franklin
Franklin has been one of the team’s most consistent players all season. No matter where he’s needed, he jumps in and competes. This weekend, he stayed hot at the plate and kept producing hit after hit.

Cade
Cade continues to be reliable both as a catcher and on the mound. He’s always willing to step into whatever role the team needs and gives solid effort every time out.

All three continue to show what team-first baseball looks like. 🐐⚾

12U Lady Goatheads Encinas headed up to Farmington this weekend and showed exactly what growth, resilience, and team culture can look like.

This team has had a lot thrown at them in a short amount of time. They dealt with a tough spring season, made the transition into the Goatheads family, added several new players recently, and even brought in a couple guest players to help fill things out.

With that many moving pieces, you never really know what a weekend is going to look like.

What stood out wasn’t just the 3-3-1 record. It was the way the girls competed together, supported each other, and kept getting better as the weekend went on. You could see the chemistry starting to build.

A big thank you and credit to the parents and coaches who helped make the weekend such a positive experience for the girls.

We’re really excited about where this team is headed. This weekend felt like the beginning of something these players can build on together. πŸ₯ŽπŸŽ€πŸ
