RCHS Activities Schedule **UPDATE**

Due to the forecasted temperature for Monday (9/7), we have moved the start time for the JV Football game at Nemaha Central to 10:00AM.

Thank you to all who have contributed to the HS football fund. All donations made yesterday and today will go towards our match, meaning the Rural Riley County Community foundation will match it up to $1,500.00 Your donations directly benefit the players, for instance since the start of May the FB program has purchased $2,795.00 worth of protein shakes, Gatorade bars, Gatorade Chews and Gatorade mix. All players have these items at their disposal during school and after practice. Please consider contributing to RCHS FB fund so that we can sustain these purchases.

Match day is here!!

The football team has a foundation account, and we have been able to make significant upgrades due to generous contributions from the Riley County community. Any and all donations made to the Riley County Football Fund directly benefits Riley County football players. We have purchased a drone, end zone camera, a mobile watering system, additional sideline head sets, Gatorade sports packages (Gatorade Chews, Muscle Milk Protein and Gatorade Bars) and new travel bags with match day funds. We have also been blessed to have had a 32' zone chute and two hedge hog tackling systems donated. The team greatly appreciates all past, present and future donations. All donations made today and Friday will go towards match day. The football team will have a booth set-up in the HS cafeteria Thursday & Friday.

Today begins Rural Riley County Match Day!

Match Day provides an opportunity for growth for area organizations that strive to do good works and an opportunity for the community to support these causes. On this day, donations made through the Rural Riley County Community Foundation to participating funds will receive a 50% match that can be used for their most crucial needs.

What an incredible and well-deserved honor!

Congratulations to Coach Steve Wagner on his induction into the Kansas Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2026!

Coach Wagner dedicated so much of his time, heart, and energy to Riley County Football, impacting generations of players, families, coaches, and our entire community along the way. The wins and accomplishments are certainly part of his legacy, but an even bigger part is the young men he helped shape and the tradition he built within Falcon Football.

Sports in Kansas Football Player to Watch: Brendon Woodard, Riley County, Sr. TE/OLB, 6-3, 215 lbs

Brendon Woodard is coming off a breakout junior season and will be one of the top returning playmakers for Riley County this fall. The senior tight end and outside linebacker finished 2025 with 31 receptions for 600 yards and four touchdowns earning S*K All-State Non-Senior honors at tight end while adding 50 tackles and five sacks on defense. Over his career, Woodard has totaled 850 receiving yards, six touchdown catches, 81 tackles, nine sacks and an interception.

Riley County returns several experienced players, including quarterback Kadrick Woodard, Alvy Morales and Evan Widman, as the team looks to bounce back from last season and make a playoff run. Woodard is also a standout in track and field, earning all-state honors after placing third in Class 2A in the discus while setting the school record.

“I am very excited about the new season. We have a lot of returning starters and very high standards for this season. Although we didn’t make the playoffs last year, everyone is motivated to have a winning record and make a deep playoff run,” he told S*K.
