Trying out to fly this upcoming season? Practice these body positions and be ready to show us what you got at our evaluations on May 26th!

Here’s what you need to focus on:

* Balance & Body Control
* Hold positions like liberty, heel stretch, and arabesque without wobbling
* Practice standing on one foot (eyes forward, chest up)

* Flexibility
* Daily stretching for hamstrings, hips, shoulders, and back

* Core Strength
* Tight core = stable flyer
* Work planks, hollow holds, leg lifts, and V-ups
* Leg Strength
* Strong standing leg is EVERYTHING
* Single-leg squats, lunges, and calf raises

* Locking Out & Squeezing
* Straight knees, pointed toes, tight glutes
* “Squeeze everything” to avoid looking loose in the air
* Arm Placement (Clean Motions)
* High V, low V, T, clasp — sharp and controlled
* No bent elbows or lazy arms

* Confidence in the Air
* Hit positions like you OWN them
* Smile, eye contact, performance face

* Body Awareness
* Know where your hips, shoulders, and feet are at all times
* Practice hitting positions in a mirror
