Veteran Skate Trek

Veteran Skate Trek Join us August 7. Starting at 5:00 a.m. Donations can be made to the GoFundMe page “Skateboarding 101 Miles for Ukraine,” at https://gofund.me/fb327759

We have skateboarded 1000+ miles down the California coastline, crossed the Florida Keys in three days, now, we are skating 101 miles up and down the Los Angeles coastline to raise money for Ukrainians affected by the war with Russia. on Sunday morning, August 7, 2022, Redondo Beach resident and Iraq War Veteran Andrew Goldsmith will begin a 101-mile, non-stop skateboard journey along the beaches

of Los Angeles, from Malibu to Torrance, to raise awareness and money for Ukrainians affected by the war with Russia. Andrew is raising money for International Medical Corps, which provides medical, mental health, and protection services to the millions of people affected by the conflict, through his GoFundMe page, “Skateboarding 101 Miles for Ukraine” at https://gofund.me/fb327759

Anyone who can keep up with the pace on skateboard or bike is welcome to join Andrew on his journey for as little or as long as they would like. Andrew will be carrying both the Ukrainian and American flags on his journey to symbolize the solidarity of the American people with the Ukrainians in their time of need. Periodic updates as to Andrew’s location and status will be published throughout the day on the page: https://www.facebook.com/VetSkateTrek

All proceeds raised from the skate will go to the International Medical Corps, an “A” rated charity by CharityWatch.org which provides primary and emergency health services; mental health and psychosocial support; water, sanitation, and hygiene services, and more, to the millions of people affected by the war in Ukraine, as well as other conflicts.

Coming at you by land, sea . . . and more land, join me for 100 miles along the Strand, Sat Feb 1, to commemorate my 40th. Midnight to sunrise, sunrise until sunset. We’ll sleep when we’re dead.

I imagine most people will want to join for the bike portion. Meet at Miramar Park, by Torrance Beach, at 6:30 am if you want to ride a surprisingly easy and pleasant 44 miles along some of the best coastline in the world.

Done. 101 Miles for Ukraine.

Thank you to everyone who supported this ride, donated to the cause, or otherwise made this possible. Especially my family.

I should say something profound right now, but a shower and sleep is calling, it will have to wait.

Rest easy everyone. Sergeant Goldsmith, out.

Second and last time at Will Rogers, the far north point. 70 miles in, officially the farthest I have ever skated in one day. I am holding up okay, not yet abjectly miserable . . .

Which means I got a helluva left to give.
