Things take time. ❤️🏀
When we took over this program, we knew the numbers were low. We also knew that, over the years, interest in girls basketball had declined. We’re not here to point fingers or focus on why that happened. What we did recognize was that something was missing—and we believed it was time to bring it back.
Our goal as a staff, from top to bottom, has been simple: reignite the joy, love, pride, and dedication to the game of basketball here in Ravenna.
Every coach was handpicked not only because of their connection to your child, but because of the connection they can build with your child. Each coach has a history of dedication to this community and, in many cases, has worn the same jersey, played on the same court, and experienced the same pride that your daughter is experiencing today.
We aren’t just building a basketball team. We’re building a culture.
A culture rooted in development, accountability, relationships, pride, and a genuine love for the game. A culture that we believe can last and thrive for years to come.
We want to bring back the kind of excitement, pride, and success that Ravenna girls basketball experienced during the Chlysta and Tilden eras—and create a new era that our girls can be proud to be a part of.
And guess what? The numbers are growing. 🫶🏾
Our youth and middle school programs are a perfect example of what’s ahead. We’re seeing girls come out, fall in love with the game, build relationships, and develop a sense of pride in being a Lady Raven.
But building something special doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, patience, commitment, and—most importantly—the support of our community.
So keep believing. Keep showing up. Keep supporting these girls.
