Congratulations to our athletes on a tremendous performance at the Regional Championships this weekend!
A huge congratulations goes out to Mason Scott, who has officially qualified for the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships in the 300-meter hurdles! Mason competed in what was arguably the fastest regional in the state of Ohio and earned his spot among the state's best athletes. We are incredibly proud of him and look forward to cheering him on at the state meet.
Another special congratulations goes to Zander Mehalic, who ran a lifetime personal best of 2:02 in the 800m run. Great job, Zander! Your hard work and dedication paid off on one of the biggest stages of the season.
Our athletes represented Ravenna well throughout the meet:
Boys 4x800 Relay
- Curtis Ross, Ethan McKamey, Zander Mehalic, and Mason Scott competed with heart and determination all season long and represented Ravenna proudly at Regionals. While they fell short of qualifying for the state meet, they were a major part of one of the most successful relay seasons in school history.
Boys 4x200 Relay
- Isaac Thompson, D'Anthony Allen, LaDarion Askew, and Jack Masters competed hard and narrowly missed qualifying for the finals. Their dedication and improvement throughout the season helped make the relay one of the top groups in the conference.
Boys 4x400 Relay
- Isaac Thompson, Jack Masters, Curtis Ross, and Zander Mehalic broke the school record once again, continuing an incredible season. Although they came up just short of qualifying for the finals, they cemented their place in Ravenna Track & Field history.
While not every result went our way, I couldn't be prouder of how our athletes competed all season long. They represented Ravenna with pride, toughness, and determination.
