Dakota Fins Families!! We're right around the corner from a busy, wet, and fun-filled backyard.

Shawn has been busy getting the pool ready and boy is it ready! Clear blue water and it's nice and warm! Okay, maybe 1 more vacuum just to be sure. 😉 This year we doubled our water heater output and the biggest change, we got it the pool insulated! Hoping those 50 degree windy nights don't whisk away all our warm water.

We'll be sending out an email to all our registered families, new and returning, about basic information; Parking, what to bring, etc. Be on the look out for that.

We're so excited to meet all the new families this year, and are doubly excited to see all our returning swimmers. It's going to be a fun year. We got some new, more engaging pool toys and games to get kids more interested in braving the water.

Hey Swim Families,

I just wanted to let you guys know that we're starting to schedule our private swim lessons now. We're a bit behind the ball on this, but it's here now.

Without getting into the weeds, we'll be doing private swim lessons registration the same way we did last year:

Please reach out as soon as possible because we're pretty limited on private lesson slots this year due to Survival Swim taking up a chunk of time we would've normally allotted to private lessons.

We have been open for registration for less than a week and we are already blown away by the response from our Dakota Fins families!

Little Fins Survival Swim is completely full-- All 12 spots have been claimed. Thank you to every family who jumped on that so quickly. We cannot wait for this summer.

Group lessons still have availability across all three levels, but spots are filling. If you have been thinking about registering your child, now is the time. We would hate for you to miss out.

We are so excited to bring Little Fins Survival Swim program to Rapid City!

This program is designed to teach babies and toddlers who are 6+ months survival swim skills in a way that is nervous system supported; meaning regulation & trust first before demanding skills.
This program teaches the whole child, not just chasing one outcome. It involves parents in the process & creates confidence that lasts beyond the lessons.

These lessons are:

• 20 minutes per day for 3 days per week. This allows skill retainment to occur each week

• 1:1 private lessons in a private pool. This allows for minimal distractions

• Tailored to each individual child to meet them where they are

• Parents will be guided on skills and holding techniques so that practice can happen outside of lessons

• This gentle but very effective method will teach young children to swim —> roll to float —> swim again to safety

No child is drown-proof. But children deserve instruction that builds skill, confidence, trust, and respect for the water.

Dakota Fins is bringing Little Fins Survival Swim to Rapid City this summer ☀️

This program is all about building confidence, safety, and connection in the water. Through nervous-system supported techniques, your little one will learn lifesaving skills in a way that feels safe and empowering.

A little information about the program:

• When: 3 days/week commitment for the duration of the summer (10-12 weeks)
• Time: 20 minute sessions each day
• Location: 1:1 session in our private pool

Spots will be limited—sign-ups will open in May!
