Bands before you throw.
Ice after your outing.
Light stretching if you remember.
And you call that arm care.
But a habit without intention
is just routine.
And routine without purpose
isn’t protecting your arm.
It’s giving you the feeling that it is.
That’s the most dangerous kind of arm care.
The kind that feels like enough
but isn’t actually doing anything.
The pitchers with the healthiest arms
aren’t doing more than you.
They’re doing the right things
with real purpose behind every single one.
That’s the difference between arm care
that works and arm care that doesn’t.
Follow — I’ll show you what real arm care looks like.

Don’t Be This Guy!

I could’ve played D1 but.
That word. But.
It’s the most painful word in baseball.
I’ve heard it too many times
from pitchers who had everything it took.
Most of the time the but
isn’t what ended the career.
It’s just the easiest thing to point to.
The real story started way earlier.
Offseasons that weren’t taken seriously enough.
Development that kept getting pushed back.
Waiting for the right moment that never came.
You still have time right now.
You still have an offseason in front of you.
The ability to go all in
on your development before the but shows up.
Don’t give the but a reason to exist.
Go all in. Right now. Today.
The version of you with zero regrets
started making that decision in moments like this.

Your current situation is a direct reflection of your daily habits. As a pitcher, the scoreboard doesn’t lie, and neither does your development.
If you are training at an elite level—consistently prioritizing joint mobility, tissue quality, intentional throwing programs, and mechanical efficiency—chances are you are earning those college and pro offers. The results naturally follow the work.
But if you’re sitting around wondering why your velocity is stalled or why scouts aren’t calling, it’s time to audit your routine. If you aren’t tracking metrics, following a structured program, or committing to the daily boring work, chances are you’re just guessing the process.
Success on the mound isn’t a product of luck; it’s a product of design. Stop leaving your career to chance. Elevate your habits, lock in your preparation, and build a routine that commands the results you want.

If you’re sitting on the mound thinking you can cruise into a college lineup just because you throw 90+ mph, it’s time for a reality check.

College hitters eat fastball-only pitchers for breakfast. If you can’t throw your offspeed for strikes, you won’t play college baseball. Period.

Coaches aren’t looking for throwers; they are looking for pitchers. When it’s a 2-0 or 3-1 count, and the hitter knows a fastball is coming, you’re just serving up batting practice. You have to be able to drop that slider or changeup in the zone at any moment in the count to keep them off-balance.

If you want to play at the next level, get comfortable being uncomfortable. Learn to command your secondary stuff when the pressure is on.

Stop chasing just velocity and start chasing ex*****on.

It’s a classic story in college baseball: a pitcher absolutely dominates the fall season, looks untouchable in intra-squads, but completely falls apart come spring.
What changes? It’s rarely a sudden loss of talent. The reality is that the fall is a controlled environment with zero stakes. But when the spring arrives, the environment shifts. The lights get brighter, the pressure mounts, and the workload skyrockets.
Suddenly, you aren’t just throwing competitive innings; you’re managing weekend travel, high-leverage situations, and the physical toll of a relentless schedule. A lot of guys fail because they train for the mechanical side of pitching, but neglect the mental durability and physical tissue tolerance required to survive a grueling season.
If your routine only works when there’s no pressure and plenty of rest, you’re guessing the process. Elite durability—both mental and physical—is built in the dark, not when the season starts.
