Oak City Cycling Project Race Team RACING BIKES. Riding for Oak City Cycling Project, the raddest shop in Raleigh, NC. We are a bike race team based out of downtown Raleigh, NC. Let's hang out!

Our goal is grow the sport of cycling by supporting the Oak City Cycling Project bike shop as its sponsored team and host cyclocross and criterium racing clinics. Through the combined experience of each team member, we want to share any and all advice we can on training routes, safe riding and all things cycling, so please, ask us questions!

This year's CX-MAS will play host to the most anticipated sporting event of the year: DOGGY CROSS! That's right, no bikes just dogs (and their owners)! We invite all dog lovers to bring their cyclo-pups to the Springhill CX course in Dorothea Dix Park on December 12th for a fun and furry time.

The rules:
1. Race/run starts at 11 am.
2. All dogs must be on a leash.
3. The race will consist of three laps on a revised and shortened CX circuit.
4. All owners/handlers must perform all tasks or aid their pup with any on the course.
5. Task 1 is a barrier hop. Your dog must jump each barrier or be picked up and assisted over.
6. Task 2 is a box tunnel. Each dog and their friend must run through one of the three available boxes every lap.
7. Task 3 is "SIT!" The owner/handler of each participating doggo must sit in a chair for 10 seconds before proceeding.
8. Task 4 is a dog walk. In the section of the course, participants must walk (not run).
9. All dog owners must have bags on their person to pick up any p**p that may occur before, DURING, and after the race. If nature calls during the race, you can not proceed until the p**p gets picked up.
10. The first dog across the line wins, but in truth, all dogs win and prizes will be given out for all who are BEST IN SHOW! We will have treats and water available for all good puppers!
11. This is a free event, but please let our registration volunteers know you plan to participate in Doggy Cross when you check-in.

* Since this is our first year, we will probably not create size categories to separate the competition, but this could be subject to change.
** We love all dogs, but if you have an easily aggravated dog, please leave them at home.
