What is Utility Hydrosol?

At the 5 Star Distillery of Essential Oils located at Upper Crescent Bar, Washington our hydrosol is captured during the steam distillation of essential oil. As the steam passes thru the plant material, essential oil is released. Through the process, two liquids are produced from the condenser: hydrosol and essential oil. Hydrosol has all the properties and the benefits of essential oil, but in a less concentrated form, making hydrosol very useful where essential oil would be too strong. Lavender also falls into the category of herbs with natural antibacterial properties. Hydrosol can be used, but not limited to, natural
cleaning spray, window cleaning, steam ironing, hair care, shoe deodorizer, anti itch and dry skin spray, insect bites, minor cuts and abrasion spray, or pet care. You can also combine hydrosol with Epsom salts and bentonite clay for a detoxifying soak to unwind and relax, or use it as a substitute in recipes calling for distilled water.
