This weekend our team defeated Iroquois West High School to become the 2026 Illinois Scholastic Team Champions!

Congratulations to our team members: Vayda Swango, Avery Klinner, Amelia Chbeir, Kalayla Swango, and Cierra Breckenkamp. We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication! 👏🎯

Beyond proud of this group at the Presidents Match this weekend! 🎯

In 3P Air Rifle, we brought home 1st and 2nd place against a strong field of competitors — and they absolutely earned it.

The discipline it takes to shoot scores like this doesn’t just happen on match day — it’s built through countless practices, mental toughness, and trust in the process.
Watching them compete with confidence and push each other to be better is what this sport is all about.
So proud of the work. So proud of the results. And we’re not done yet. 💪🔥

Our Blue Devils crushed it at the Thanksgiving Match! 🦃🎯

We not only made the podium AGAIN, but several of our shooters walked away with huge personal wins!

🔥 Vayda Swango shot two new personal bests, including a perfect prone target, and secured 3rd place in 3-P Air Rifle!
🔥 Amelia Chbeir was right behind her, finishing in 4th place while tying her personal best!

Proud is an understatement. 👏

This past Saturday, the QHS Rifle Team competed at the Central Illinois Precision Shooting Club’s Fall Classic in Bloomington — and brought home podium finishes! 🏆
Their focus and dedication continue to make QHS proud. Check out their impressive scores below and congratulate our athletes on a job well done! 💙💙

Reminder: Tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the QJHS cafeteria, we’ll hold the parent/athlete meeting for Rifle Team tryouts!

Please discuss with your child which day (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday) would work best for their tryout. Practices will be held from 3:30 - 5:30 pm starting next week and ending in February.

When you arrive, enter through the cafeteria doors on the east corner of Jersey Street, closest to 14th Street.

We can’t wait to see everyone there!

Today we wrapped up an incredible weekend of learning, improving, and competing at rifle camp! The final event was a high-pressure elimination final — and we couldn’t be prouder of how Avery handled it.

She shot with focus, confidence, and heart, representing QHS Rifle Team like a true champion. 💪🏼🎯 It’s always tough when the pressure’s on, but she stayed cool and finished strong!

We’re excited to take everything we’ve learned this week back home and into the upcoming season. Huge thank you to the coaches at Central Illinois Precision Shooters, and all the athletes who made this such an awesome experience!
