Just when I thought that my life was starting to get back to normal a tornado hit our property and mowed down the beautiful trees lining our driveway, took down fencing, damaged our deck etc.
But it could have been worse!
I am grateful it wasn’t. (See photos)

Where to next? We needed this compass to help us get reoriented.
Chesca and Karen
are exhausted from everything we’ve been up to lately but our hearts are FULL.

67 of our relatives got together for a family reunion yesterday.
This weekend we were able to be with cousins we had not seen for over 35 years, 43 years, 50 years etc.
Our mother’s sisters and their families had immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in the 70s and 80s.
While this is Chesca’s very first time to go to Vancouver, this is Karen’s second time and Ayo has been here several times. We were so happy to reconnect with our cousins.

We will be back.

Loving every second of it.

Kika wore my mother’s wedding gown to her rehearsal dinner.
Yes- this Philippine Formal dress with the iconic Terno sleeves is 72 years old!! She had it altered for a modern twist. Swipe to see my mom during her wedding day.
The thing that was really touching and beautiful about Kika and Joe’s wedding was that they honored her Filipino roots.
I would like to make this clear that I did not ask nor expect this at all! This was their decision.
So not only did she choose to wear my mom’s Filipino wedding gown for her rehearsal dinner but she also had Filipino elements during her wedding: Godparents chosen, Candle sponsors, veil, cord and blessing of the coins.

Plus that she chose to have both Steve and me walk her down the aisle (which is also a nod to my Filipino upbringing)
that alone made my heart full.

Thank you for all the overwhelming comments and congratulations for Kika and Joe’s wedding!!!

I didn’t think and I would be able to join the because we have been moving NONSTOP since the wedding. See photos.
However, we squeezed this in before the 2 hour drive back to Pittsburgh.

It has taken me an entire week to process Kika and Joe’s wedding and I am still not done. When words fall short I rely on the photos and videos sent to me to try to share how wonderful their day was.
The forecast predicted rain all day but it stopped and the sun came out at the perfect time.

My most favorite parts of their wedding:
Gabi singing the Ave Maria (at Kika’s request)
The speeches given by Joe’s siblings and Gabi
and Steve’s epic FOB speech!
My 95 year old mom and Steve’s 85 year old mom dancing late into the night.
Sweet Caroline,
An unplanned song “What’s Up” by Joe and Kika at the end of the reception before their After Party started in the next room.
Sharing short videos of the cocktail hour and the after party plus the last video was a reel made by their wedding planner Tim K.

God Bless Joe and Kika.
We are so proud of you and happy to have Joe be a part of our family.
