Elmhurst finished the Mayor’s Cup undefeated, winning the championship 7-3 over Washington Park.

Leo Ucci got the win for Elmhurst. Leo came in to start the third with Elmhurst down 3-0 and held Washington Park scoreless for the remainder of the game - striking out 10 in 4 innings of work.

Elmhurst rallied in the 4th to take the lead with a keen eye and timely hitting. Leo and Greyson Romano drew walks to start the inning. Dom Bianco singled to load the bases. Luca Polo added a single of his own to drive in Elmhurst’s first run. Armani Jimenez made it 3-2 with another single. A walk by Raylin Parra tied the game at 3.

Speedster Ahmejah Evans beat out a grounder to single and give Elmhurst’s first run the lead. John Ramirez crossed home plate on a wild pitch before a scorching single by Teagan Robinson drove in 2 to put Elmhurst up 7-3.

Leo’s strong effort on the mound was aided by solid defense - including a great catch of a liner to center to Ahmejah.

Elmhurst defeated a tough squad from Elmwood 7-1 to finish pool play 4-0 and advance to the final tomorrow at 12:00 in the Mayor’s Cup.

Teagan Robinson led off the game with a drive to the fence. Leo Ucci then hit a towering home run to give Elmhurst a two run lead. Teagan went 3 for 3 on the day with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Leo was 2 for 2 with 2 runs score and 3 driven in.

Jordan Vieira and Dom Bianco led Elmhurst on the mound. Each struck out 5 and walked only 3 combined.

Ahmejah Evans sparked a 5 run explosion for Elmhurst in the sixth by legging out an infield single and advancing to second on an overthrow. Greyson Romano, Dom and Luca Polo kept the offense moving with big hits.

Thank you to Elmwood Little League for being a great host and for a great game. Class and sportsmanship all the way.

Elmhurst takes on Elmwood Little League at 5:00 pm today in the last game of pool play. Come down to JT Owens field and cheer these great ballplayers on!

Elmhurst prevailed over Olneyville Little League at Silver Lake 2-1 in a nail biter to improve to 3-0 in the Mayor’s Cup.

Asher Duncan started for Elmhurst and held Silver Lake scoreless over 4 1/3 surrendering only 2 hits and walking 1, while striking out 9. Teagan Robinson closed it out for Elmhurst recording 4 strikes outs in his 1 1/3 innings.

Elmhurst’s pitchers were aided by some excellent defense. Fleet footed Ahmejah Evans made an outstanding catch in centr field and Luca Polo flashed the leather in left to keep Silver Lake off the board.

Leo Ucci caught the entire game and drove in one of Elmhurst’s two runs. Jordan Vieira also went 1-2 and drove in the other.

Hats off to Silver Lake on a great game.

Tonight's Mayor Cup game has been postponed due to field conditions.

Elmhurst will now take on Olneyville Little League at Silver Lake, Friday at 6:00 pm at JT Ownes.

Elmhurst took the win 7-0 over a tough Washington Park squad. Elmhurst was led to victory by its Team Captains Leo Ucci and Teagan Robinson.

Leo took mound at the start for Elmhurst and threw 4 shut out innings striking out 11. He helped his cause at the plate going 3 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored. He added a web gem making a diving catch on a liner to third to end the game.

Teagan crushed a grand slam in the 4th inning to put Elmhurst up 6-0. He also played stellar defense at short.

Asher “America Runs On” Duncan closed out the game throwing 2 shutout innings.

Leo and Asher’s battery mate Greyson Romano caught the entire game and gunned a runner down at second to record a crucial out.

Luca Polo and Armani Jimenez both singled to help Elmhurst’s cause. Jordan Vieira showed a keen eye, drawing two walks in his two at bats and scoring a run for Elmhurst.
