Well, if you’ve followed along the journey of Chase & the Mooses you know this last race didn’t end so great - caught up on a crash, relegated to the back with a bent axle & 2 laps after restarting, having a left front tire flat, but Chase muscled thru it & brought it in 15th.
Trailer loaded & heading home by 11:30 pm … had to make an out of the way detour to drop off an engine that when Tom did the leak down , found a cylinder wasn’t cooperating , thus resulting in the backup car for the last handful of races & then the team putting the engine that was supplied to us by Burkie of Superior Tanks into the 1st car incase there was another problem .
With all the warnings of weather at home none of us really knew what we’d find when we pulled up to the shop about 12:30 this afternoon .
Our home looks pretty much unscathed, hardly even fallen tree limbs , but Steve’s house had quite a bit of property damage & poor Shari was home riding out the storm. After chatting with Shari on the phone she e called Tim & Tammy Engler & after a couple attempts to get down Steve’s street they finally had success & worked to get Shari some power with a generator . Steve called ton afew after we got home & his property is a mess, uprooted trees, limbs etc, & now found a couple holes in his barns roof & they still have no power.even with all that they are very lucky as their neighbors house is torn up badly …..
The most important part of all of this is everyone is safe …. And we are all so fortunate to have amazing friends ….
Now is time to clear everything outta the rig, clean, a zillion loads of laundry, the guys servicing the cars , reload & be ready to hit the road next week for the fri & Saturday shows in Ohio & Michigan…. Gonna be a busy few days !!!!
By the way … Kokomo I think wanted to just stay in the motorhome ( crazy cat!)🐈⬛
