A comfortable hunter is more alert, can set the entire day and will ultimately make a better shot. There simply is not a more comfortable stand than . We have over 240
sets across our farms, options for every wind scenario and options for every stage of big buck seasonal movement. Our go to is the . The seat and back allows for complete comfort and the platform is large enough for three hunters lol. Power forwards have plenty of room in the M150, it’s called the monster for a reason! We also utilize the ladders and the ladders. The 366 gives the Hunter the option to rotate quietly and comfortably to view every direction without any adjustment.

For those that love a ladder, the ladder is a perfect choice. This ladder is 18’, comfortable and easy to move if you need to make one. I can take down and carry the ladder then stand it up in just a matter of minutes, alone, to make a move if needed. We have added several to our arsenal in the last couple of years.

Turkey hunters can enjoy the same comfort as well. Hang an M300 at the base of a tree and call in comfort or set up in a TUO100 Pro Turkey set.

When I first started, before the first guest arrived, I knew I wanted a safety line on every set. Money was very tight, but guest safety was and is our top priority. I made a cold call to Jerry Wydner of and explained to him what I wanted to do. Out of the blue, had never met him or spoke with him prior to that day in 2015. We had just put up our first sets. 61 in total, that’s a lot of life lines for somebody running on a very limited budget. We spoke for a while, and he agreed to get me geared up, at a discount, because first and foremost hunter safety is his passion, profit or no profit. That call has turned into a lifelong friendship and mentorship as well. Jerry is one of, if not the most genuine, kind people in this entire industry.

Since that first call, we have worked together to ensure every set here at Tad Ladd West Kentucky Whitetails has a safety line attached to it. We are up over 240 sets in total, that is a whole bunch of safety lines, and every one has a life saving line. We use his incredible line of vests for our prep work and keep various models in the shop for guests who still do not hunt with one. It is a requirement here. It’s simply not worth the risk.

We started wearing two years ago. Thaca is the big game hunting camo line of Banded waterfowl. The quality is incredible, and the affordability is practical. I have been using seed blends for 26 years now. I cold called Wilson Scott, I wanted to focus on small areas dedicated to year round food, “plots”! That phone call turned into a mentorship and lifelong friendship that I share with him to this day. Wilson and the family decided to sale their ownership a few years ago, but the seed remains the same, and so does the customer service that has always been a hallmark of .

We have gotten as much as ten years lifespan of their trademark imperial clover. We keep our plots fertilized and limed, and clipped frequently, but ten years out of one seeding is amazing. Truly a testament to the engineering of the seed itself. We use multiple annuals for fall and winter food sources, and have great success with all their products. is simply untouchable as far as plots go. It can withstand drought, heavy browse and is palatable nearly year round, and every critter in the woods utilizes it at one point or another during the year.

Today let’s talk about . I first used an ozonics unit in 2016. After using it for my personal hunting I knew I had to incorporate it into our outfit. Controlling scent is the absolute hardest part of our job, Ozonics is a major contributor to helping us achieve it. I bought 6 units to hand out to guests, to use while hunting. You can read the testimonials, and realize just what an important piece of the puzzle hunting with an unit is.

What up fair chasers? Man you know it’s close when the range is officially open. Eric got the targets set up today, Freebaby has been doing plot work and I’ve been trimming and adjusting stands. The trail cam gallery now has over 1000 pics, some fantastic fair chase shooters we hope to get our hands on here in about 10 days. What’s up fair chasers? Greetings from beautiful western Kentucky. You don’t have to ask what we’ve been doing, getting after it with all out effort preparing for the hunting portion of the season to start in Sep. The season never ends around here, year round management and improving habitat with each each passing year.

The alfalfa plots look incredible, the clover plots look incredible, the chicory plots look incredible, our corn stands look like 175 bushel per acre, all for our herd. The sunflowers look incredible, should be another slammer on the mourning dove hunting.

We’ve moved several sets and have put up another 30 or so new M150’s. There is no better sit than an M150. We’ve got a bunch of L366 swivel ladders to stand up as well in late September.

Guests check the gallery, updating every 2-3 days. I’ll include a few here. Relentless effort all day every day here at Tad Ladd West Kentucky Whitetails. Just 20 some odd days away from year 12, and ready to welcome our friends and new guests to our little slice of heaven.

What up fair chasers? When you’ve almost reached your limit, and pushed as hard as you can, and don’t think you can make it another day, the Good Lord sends a little refreshing North breeze, rejuvenating the body and mind. I ain’t gonna lie, Tuesday was about as hot as I’ve ever been, including to***co patches, hay fields and even Iraq. The humidity was as tough as I have ever felt it here in Kentucky. But the wind turned north with a little cool front and this morning and today was just an absolute refreshing, for all of us that are out in it each day.

We are on about a twelve day stretch, had the boys down over the weekend, Tate-Caleb-Levi-Eric, and we got several farms knocked out with several new M150 sets and adjusted and trimmed existing, it’s hard to imagine how many sets we have, some say over the top, I say lots of options lol. I can say with sincerity, our team gives everything we got from the start of the day til the end, doing our best to ensure every little detail is completed.

Free and me are taking advantage of the incredible weather and hopefully by the weekend the majority will be finished.

We will be starting the feed program, using protein blend on August 1. The gallery looks great right now but will kick up a notch when we can get a little feed in the feeders.

Opening day is only 44 days away and our crew is ready to roll. Ready to see our guests arrow some of these west Kentucky studs.
