After representing the USA U19 team in South Africa, Lilly continued her journey with the USA Open Squad in Zambia and Zimbabwe.
At just 16, she stepped onto unfamiliar fields, rode new horses, learned to adapt quickly, competed bravely, and kept learning every step of the way.
One of the most valuable parts of this experience was having the opportunity to play alongside and against more experienced players. Being surrounded by athletes who have competed at the highest levels gave Lilly mentors to watch, learn from, ask questions, and lean on. Those relationships and lessons are helping shape not only the player she is becoming, but the horsewoman and teammate she is growing into.
International polocrosse takes more than skill and talent. It demands confidence, horsemanship, grit, adaptability, and the determination to keep finding ways to grow and become stronger. The work doesn’t stop when the tour ends.
If anything, experiences like this show you exactly where the next level of work begins. You come home with new goals, new expectations, things to improve, and an even bigger drive to put in the hours. The opportunity is incredible—but what you do with everything you learned afterward matters just as much. We’re incredibly proud of Lilly and can’t wait to see what she does next!
