Saturday, September 23. Kings Landing Park, Battle Creek Cypress Swamp, and Flag Ponds Nature Park, will be closed as a precautionary measure due to predicted rainfall and coastal flooding.

Current water bacteria levels at Flag Ponds Nature Park exceed standards for recreational use. After the Calvert County Health Department conducted water testing, the facility has been deemed a swim-at-your-own-risk location. The Department of Parks & Recreation has posted signs throughout the facility to make visitors aware. The Calvert County Health Department will retest water bacteria levels later this week.

Please be advised, due to a water main break in the Battle Creek Nature Center the facility will be closed on Tuesday, August 24. The park and trails will be open, however no restroom facilities will be available. An update will be provided when the facility is able to re-open.

Friday, February 19: Calvert County is on a delayed opening. Parks will open at 10 am, but this may change depending on conditions. Please check back, or (call the center after 10 am) before visiting.
