Wanted to make sure everyone got the message. I have decided to cancel the summer league games tonight due to air quality. This is the worst it has ever been in state history and even indoors can be dangerous for our athletes. Stay safe.

As we get ready to take off to compete in the Shoot out in the Dells, I thought I would post a link to some pics of the hotel (Dellshire Resort) we will be staying at. Looks pretty awesome.

Attention All Prentice School District Families:

I am sharing this video because it does a great job explaining why Neuromuscular Training is so important for athletes.

Neuromuscular Training is not just about getting stronger, faster, or in better condition. It is about improving the connection between the brain, nervous system, and muscles. That connection is what helps athletes move more efficiently, react quicker, accelerate faster, stop under control, change direction, jump, land, and compete with better body control.

That is the purpose of our summer SIT Workout Program, which is for all Prentice School District 6th through 12th grade students.

SIT stands for Sprint Interval Training. The goal is to build better athletes. We use short explosive movements, full recovery, sprint mechanics, body control, core stability, acceleration, deceleration, and change-of-direction work to train athletes how to move with more speed, power, balance and control.

This type of training benefits every program in our school.

Cross-Country athletes benefit form better running mechanics, stride efficiency, finishing speed, hill strength, and the ability to respond to pace changes during a race.

Volleyball athletes benefit from quicker first steps, better lateral movement, improved jumping power, safer landings, and faster reaction time.

Basketball athletes benefit from acceleration, deceleration, defensive movement, change of direction, balance, body control, and the ability to win short-space movements.

Baseball athletes benefit from faster starts, better lateral quickness, improved rotational control, stronger movement in the field, and more explosiveness on the bases.

Track athletes benefit from improved sprint mechanics, acceleration, power, coordination, and overall athletic development.

Football athletes benefit from first-step explosion, change of direction, hip mobility, balance, tackling position, acceleration, and the ability to compete in short, explosive spaces.

This isn't a replacement for the weight room or conditioning, it is an enhancement. When the Neuromuscular Connection is strong, the efficiency of all workouts is increased resulting in better results.

The schedule for the remainder of the summer is 3:30-5:30p, every Monday and Thursday through July 16th. The workout takes about 20-30 minutes and can be done at the athletes convenience, just come in anytime between 3:30-5:30p.

If you have any questions, just ask in the comment section, and please spread the word.
