Customer Spotlight: Fellow wheelgunner TC tried Recoil Riders and sent us this feedback: "I was disappointed the first time I took my S&W 638 to the range; in the vernacular, I couldn't hit a cow on the teat with a tin cup. The recoil was worse than I expected, and it rocked so much in my hand that the cylinder release cut a divot in my thumb knuckle.

I knew I needed better control, so I ordered a set of Recoil Rider grips. They went on with a bit of coaxing and I liked the feel of them, not too hard yet not too grippy either. My pinkie fit on the bottom (mostly) and the backstrap of the revolver was now covered, so I hoped that would mitigate some of sharp recoil. I haven't shot it a lot since then but what I have was definitely an improvement. I expect they'll perform even better with time and acclimation. So far, I'm pretty satisfied."

Much appreciated, TC.

Customer Spotlight: Fellow wheelgunner Bamboo tried Recoil Riders and sent us this feedback: "Second review, finally I took my R***r sp101 9mm out with the recoil rider large grip and it is painless. The material be used is just perfect for revolver grips. This design is minimalist, yet just as comfy as the hogue mono grip when shooting. It doesn’t reduce recoil obviously, but it gives a comfortable surface area for recoil to spread out, in turn giving no hot spots and a more comfortable shooting experience. I had no trouble with clearance on the cylinder with moon clips. I could easily drop 500 rounds of +p(if I was rich). I only shot 40 rounds of 124 +p, and a box an a half of 115 federal target and half a box of Tula 115 steel case which may be nato spec they kicked more than the federal; about 130 rounds total( would shoot more but ammo is expensive). These grips real improved the ergonomics, I can get slightly higher on the gun, and with a proper revolver grip with my support hand thumb clamped behind the webbing of my shooting hand I can fight the recoil and the recoil can’t hurt me. Great design David, sorry this review to so long to get out."

Much appreciated, Bamboo.

Customer Spotlight: Fellow wheelgunner JP tried Recoil Riders and sent us this feedback: "Installed on my EDC revolver (Smith and Wesson Model 360PD). For my test run, I fired 100 rds. of .38 SPC +P 158 grain ammunition. Grips and recoil management was very comparable to the S&W rubber combat grips (OEM for Model 60). The S&W OEM w/ third finger slot is my "go-to". This made the session okay.

Second range trial was with .38 SPC +P 125 grain ammunition (typically my EDC defense loadout) and these grips made a very noticeable difference. They are less visually appealing than wood or most S&W J Frame grips. This change in grip module to the Recoil Rider made the range session enjoyable. I do regularly practice with my EDC.

A negative is that these inhibit ejection of all five casings (one typically gets hung up). Loading with J Clips, speed strips was fine. Not all speed loaders worked (that is not a showstopper)."

Much appreciated, JP.

Customer Spotlight: Fellow wheelgunner Ernest tried Recoil Riders and sent us this feedback: "I've tried Hogue, Delta, Pachmayr and now Recoil Rider, and so far this is the most BALANCED grip for the intended purpose of the LCR (I have the 9mm version).

That title use to belong to the stock Hogue (I kept going back even after purchasing more and more grips), but the Recoil Riders is lighter, less sticky and allows an even higher grip (so hopefully this will remain the king). I noticed in all the pictures, the grips didn't fully cover the lower part of the hammer pivot pin but mine does. I'm glad for the design change as it makes it look more like a finished product and tells me David is still making improvements.

SUGGESTION: If you can somehow design an LCR (not X) specific grip where the web of your hand can sit even higher, I think it would further differentiate Recoil Rider from all the rest.

DISCLOSURE: I have not taken it to the range yet, but just dry firing in this setup I can already tell that this is the most solid feeling from all the grips I've tried in the past. With the Recoil Riders, I naturally hold the grip high enough that the cylinder release acts as an index point/semi-gass pedal for the thumb. Add in the support hand, and the front sight NEVER moves throughout the entire stroke. I also tested by drawing/picking up the LCR without looking and the hand/thumb always goes to the smae spot every time. This design/feel is a winner and hope the materials used will last the test of time."

Much appreciated, Ernest.

Customer Spotlight: Fellow wheelgunner Ian tried Recoil Riders and sent us this feedback: "Recoil Rider grips are by far my favorite revolver grips, my hands are basically the exact size of the example in the sizing guide, so before I had always gone with the standard fit, but this time I decided to try out the large fit. The large grip is excellent, and honestly I wish I had gotten large for my SP101 CCW grip because this one fits my hand so well. The extra cushioning on the large is great for recoil management and getting a firm grip, and they're not too much bigger that it impacts carrying other than maybe a bit for pocket carry. I also really like the length of pull with the large, so unless you plan on pocket carrying exclusively or have very small hands, I'd recommend the large to get the most out of these grips. Every Recoil River grip I've gotten is great though and this is a great company to work with, they ship quickly and are very responsive."

Much appreciated, Ian.
