DELTA COLLEGE PREP RETURNS ’09 GOALTENDER DRYDEN WALDSCHMIDT FROM COLORADO
Delta College Prep is proud to announce the return of 2009-born goaltender Dryden Waldschmidt for the 2026-27 season.
Originally from Colorado, Waldschmidt returns after spending the 2025-26 campaign developing within the Delta College Prep program. As one of the younger players on last season’s roster, Dryden embraced a developmental role while continuing to refine his game and prepare for increased responsibilities moving forward. He appeared in multiple games for Delta, posting a .889 save percentage across five appearances. Prior to joining Delta, Waldschmidt also spent time with the Maine Mariners 15U AAA program.
General Manager David Dew:
“I have had the absolute privilege of working with Dryden, his older brother Cohen, and the Waldschmidt family for multiple years now. Dryden competes extremely hard for us and has a skating foundation that I cannot wait to continue developing. I’m excited to see him step into a bigger role this season. It’s well deserved after the patience, work ethic, and development he displayed throughout 2025-26. Dryden loves his teammates and has a personality that keeps everyone laughing on a daily basis. Those types of players are incredibly valuable within a team culture, and we’re fortunate to have him back with us for another season.”
Head Coach Mitch Gillespie:
“We are excited to welcome Dryden Waldschmidt back for next season. Dryden earned this opportunity through his strong development last year, showcasing excellent footwork and steady progression in the crease. In his game action, he showed very promising flashes, giving a clear glimpse of his potential and ability to compete at a high level. We are looking forward to seeing him step into a bigger role and continue his growth this upcoming season.”
