MAY CHUTE OUT RECAP:
May Chute Out was a blast! Big thanks to everyone who came out and joined the fun. We had 14 competitors and many more paddlers there to volunteer and spectate.
Huge shout out to the ladies who showed out with 5 paddlers in the women's class and we had 1 junior competitor as well! 👏🙌

RESULTS:
In the WOMEN'S class Maddie took the top spot followed Karen, Annie, Grace Hassler, and Sheilad
In MEN'S Dean Martin took the win followed by Kent Geyer, Mac, Will , James Shepherd , and Sean.
In the EXPERT/PRO class Danny Stock and Seth Chapelle had fun throwing down and finished in a tie for the win.
Shlomo Jacobs-Velde held down the JUNIOR class with some sweet moves and a score that would've placed 4th in men's.

Participants and volunteers had an opportunity to win some epic prizes from our sponsors. Huge thanks to Immersion Research Calleva's River School Great Falls Foundation for the support.

Next Chute Out will be Thursday June 11th. Plan to join us and let's all do some rain dances for a May/ June monsoon, but rain or no rain we'll be there to have some more fun and grow the community.

MAY CHUTE OUT: We're on for tomorrow May 14th. Playboating is the perfect way to have fun and build skills even when the river levels get low. Whether you're just learning to catch the wave, doing your first spin, or learning to link your 10th cartwheel end, the Chute Out is for you.

Free, fun, welcoming community event.
Meeting in Anglers parking lot between 5-545pm. And head up to MD Chute for the event. If you wanna compete and are running late send us a message or meet us up there and we can likely add you to a later heat. Chute out is laid back and all about the community and fun.

This video is from last August at approx the same river level we have now. Still plenty of fun to be had.

April Chute Out pics. Warm weather, great vibes, several first time attendees. Great prizes following the comp.
Only was able to catch pics of the first heat. If anyone has additional photos/videos feel free to share with us.

Looking forward to the next one on Thursday May 14th!

Thanks to everyone who came out to compete, spectate, and to those who helped judge, time, and announce. We use simple scoring system and can teach anyone to do it on the spot.

Plan to join us next time, working on prizes for overall series winners. Help us spread grow the community and share the love of surfing and playing on the Potomac 🙏🙌

APRIL CHUTE OUT:
We're on for tomorrow April 16th! Looks like warm summer temps and a nice, friendly flow for surfing MD chute.

Meet in lower Old Anglers parking lot between 5-545pm to sign up. We'll head up to MD chute and plan to start around 6.

If you've been thinking about checking out a chute out this is the perfect time. Anyone interested in surfing and playing. We always love to see new faces and cheer you on.

Results and prize raffle following the event in the lower Anglers parking lot.

As always the Chute Out is free to enter and just about growing stoke in the community around play boating and having fun.

First Chute Out of the season is coming up this Thursday evening April 16th.
New this season: We are planning to bring back overall chute out series champions! 🏆

We have some prizes in the works and will award a series champion winner based on overall cumulative results from the events over the spring/summer.

So make sure to mark your calendar and try to attend as many of the Chute Out Freestyle Events as you can. Encourage some friends to come out to encourage each other and compete in friendly rivalry.

As always, all skill levels welcome and encouraged. Chute Outs are free to attend and compete. Following each monthly event we will do results and raffle prizes in the lower Old Anglers parking lot.

Deep and rich history in this community event.

Fun for all. Enjoy casually or use the Chute Out comps as a training ground for bigger comps. Either way it's all about having fun and bringing the community together

There have been many paddlers who started their playboating competitive career at the Chute Out and have gone on to become national champions, US freestyle team members, and even world champions.

Chute Outs are back for 2026! We're looking forward to more fun and community with play boating on the Potomac. First Chute Out of the year will be Thursday April 16th, meet at Old Anglers parking lot between 5-545 to sign-up.
Subsequent Chute Out events will be monthly on the second Thursday evening.

Chute Outs are free to enter and all skill levels welcome and encouraged. Very laid back and fun community event. Prizes and results in the parking lot following the event.
