We had the great pleasure of attending the GM Grand Master Bobby Taboada Balintawak Arnis Cuentada Seminar this past weekend! It's always so fun exploring different arts and learning their approaches, especially from one of their masters. Had a great time training with our friends from Wandering Warriors Nor'east and Kali Concepts yesterday! Got in some good practice before the Grand Master Bobby Taboada Balintawak Arnis Cuentada Seminar next weekend. We can't wait!

Due to the expected high temps tomorrow we are taking class out of the dojo! We will be training outside in the shade with a sprinkler running to keep some cool summer vibes. If you are planning to train and don't already know the super secret location, please reach out!

Origin turned three this week! We can't believe another year has gone by so quickly. As always, a huge THANK YOU to our amazing community of friends, students, and instructors who make our school what it is. We are incredibly proud of how safe, respectful, and dedicated you all are. Your enthusiasm and support means the world to us and we are thrilled to share this ongoing journey with you all. Happy birthday, Origin!

In history, the ninja used common everyday items as improvised weapons.

Most of these were gardening tools, walking sticks, pieces of clothing or in this case writing utensils.

Many individuals carry with them a pen or in some cases a pencil as part of their everyday life.

In the present day, a pen or pencil can be utilized as a makeshift self-defense tool.

At the dojo we will be looking at several options for incorporating this unassuming item into our curriculum just as our ninja ancestors would have used items for their time period.

Combing classical techniques with modern day applications is the essence of ninjutsu.

We’re looking forward to examining these methods and how our students in the present day can stay safe with objects such as this.

Incredibly proud of the Demonstrations and Promotions we had on Friday night! The demos were fantastic and it was an absolute honor for us to award our first black belts as instructors and a school. Congratulations Christopher and Alexis! Big congratulations to Matt for earning his Sandan as well. It's been a long time coming, my friend. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share a special night with our friends and students in being promoted to Godan alongside them. A very big night!
