When 🍷 Greve in Chianti, Italy comes to Oregon.

📍Gallo Nero in the Pearl District, where Italian culinary dreams live.
A beautiful evening was had by all.

Conte Neri Capponi was a delight as he showcased his family’s w**e.

I regretfully didn’t take enough w**e photos - too busy sipping.

My friend ordered the Pig War Martini and we, of course, had questions.

🍸Pig War Martini
Outfitters vodka, Cambier Orange Liqueur, orange wedges, cranberry and pineapple juice. muddled with crushed ice and served in a martini glass with a lucky little pig.

📕 This is what I found on my quest for details.
The Coast Salish peoples lived on the San Juan Islands long before Britain and America claimed them. In 1859, a pig eating potatoes nearly sparked a war. The dispute ended peacefully. The islands became part of the U.S. in 1872, but their Coast Salish heritage remains.
