Congratulations to Portage High School senior Kodie Young on earning the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation through The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. Kodie is the first PHS student to earn this nationwide credential, as this is the first year the course has been offered.

Over the school year, Kodie completed the CISR Program as a 100% independent study student, completing professional-level coursework in risk management, personal and commercial insurance, property and casualty coverage, and life and health insurance. Kodie also passed five industry certification exams to earn the designation.

Congratulations to Kodie on this outstanding accomplishment and a credential that will open doors long after high school!

We’re excited to announce the return of the Portage Middle School Club Baseball Program for its 3rd year!

This program is designed for players entering 6th-8th grade who want to develop their skills, learn the Portage Baseball system, compete against local schools, and prepare for high school baseball.

✅ Workouts begin July 8
✅ Led by the Portage High School coaching staff
✅ Primary focus on player development
✅ Fall season runs August 1 – September 15

Championship programs aren’t built during the season…they’re built in the offseason. ⚾️

Portage Baseball summer workouts begin June 8 and are open to all current and incoming high school players interested in being part of our program. Our summer schedule focuses on developing strength, speed, athleticism, baseball skills, and the habits necessary to compete at a high level.

All participants must have a completed Final Forms profile through the Athletic Department.

• Bob Dixon Man of the Year: Tyler Pirowski

Big shoutout to the Class of 2026. A group that had 5 Four-Year Letter winners, increased the win total in every year they played, and is the first class in school history to have three pitchers from the same class with 100+ career strikeouts. Kaleb Hacker finished 3rd, Hunter Cole finished 7th, and Kodie Young finished 10th all time in career strikeouts for PHS. The foundation has been laid, and the future is bright! 🔴⚾️⚫️

On Tuesday, May 19th, we will host a pre-game ceremony at our home game vs LaPorte to honor Coach Bob Dixon as he retires after 26 years in the Portage High School Baseball program as a head coach and assistant coach. Coach Dixon has been a steady leader, mentor, and friend to generations of players and families, and his impact reaches from our youth programs all the way through high school.

We invite former players, parents, coaches, and community members to join us as we celebrate his legacy and send him off the right way!
