For anyone wondering if a local, travel softball team is for you, let me give you some more information on who we are!
MGI Fastpitch is dedicated to developing local Port Angeles athletes through quality instruction, proper mechanics, and consistent training. By focusing on our local players, we're helping build athletes who are prepared to contribute to the continued success of the Port Angeles High School softball program.
One of the biggest keys to our success is our winter training. Most teams practice four days a week with:
*Two days dedicated to pitchers and catchers
*One day focused on hitting (with additional guest coaches)
*One day for a full team practice
Training schedules vary by age group. Our 12U team will aim to compete in one or two fall tournaments, take a break, then return in the new year ready for a strong season of practices and tournaments.
We're excited to welcome back Coaches Cami and Steph to lead our 12U team and we're thrilled to add Coach Natalie (Steinman) Happe to the coaching staff this season! And of course, Coach Duffy will be making appearances along the way.
Our 14U team will again be led by Coaches Alex and Cody, and we're excited to announce Coach Ryan will be helping coach as well. This winter, the 14U team will train alongside out 16/18U players, creating incredible opportunities for growth, development, and competition.
Coach Ryan will be the busiest coach of them also coaching the 16/18U teams!
If you're looking for a program that emphasizes player development, fundamentals, and a commitment to our local softball community, we'd love to have you come try out. Reach out with any questions, we're always happy to talk softball!
