⚓ SATURDAY MORNING DOUBLE-WRECK ADVENTURE 🤿

Join Aqualife Divers this Saturday morning as we explore two of Pompano Beach’s most exciting wrecks: the Captain Dan and the Okinawa.
🚢 Dive Site #1: Captain Dan
The Captain Dan is a 175-foot former U.S. Coast Guard tender resting upright in 110 feet of water. The top of the wheelhouse sits at approximately 80 feet.
This wreck is known for incredible marine life, including large schools of fish, barracuda, grouper, amberjack, and occasional surprises. The Captain Dan has even hosted two separate whale shark sightings exactly one year apart!
Originally commissioned as the Hollyhock, the vessel was renamed in memory of charter-fishing pioneer Captain Dan Garnsey and sunk on February 20, 1990, as part of the Rodeo Reef.
⚓ Dive Site #2: Okinawa
Our second dive takes us to the Okinawa, a 107-foot former U.S. Army tug resting perfectly upright in 69 feet of water. The top of the pilot house rises to approximately 35 feet, making this an excellent wreck for exploration and photography.
The Okinawa features the famous Midnight Sun Dive Bar, created by artist Dennis McDonald. Divers can also explore the large opening in front of the wheelhouse, enter the engine room, and exit through the dive bar when training, certification, experience, and conditions permit.
The Okinawa was sunk by Shipwreck Park Inc. and became the 18th wreck in Shipwreck Park Pompano Beach.
