Tonight, our Lady War Eagles took a tough loss, and our season came to an end. Obviously, it was not the outcome we wanted, but when I step back and look at the bigger picture the growth, the camaraderie, the culture, and the heart of this team ,there is so much to be proud of.
This program has come so far from where we were just one year ago. These girls have changed the culture of Sycamore High School softball in the best way. They showed up, bought in, fought for each other, and helped build something that will last far beyond this season.
To our seniors ,you will truly be missed. Your leadership, athleticism, drive to win, and love for this team have meant more than you know. As a coach, it is never easy to say goodbye to players you have spent so much time with over the last four years. You have poured so much into this program, and your impact will be felt for years to come.
At the end of the day, these girls have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. They should be proud of how far they have come, proud of the way they competed, and proud of the season they had. As a coach, I could pick apart a billion things I wish I had done differently, but I could also give you a billion reasons why this year has been so impactful.
I also want to recognize my coaching staff. I am blessed with a wonderful staff of coaches whose combined knowledge, experience, and passion for this game is something special. We work well together, we coach together, and we are building something within this program that all of us can be proud of. I am just as proud of my coaches as I am of this team, because every single one of them has poured into these girls and helped move Lady War Eagle softball forward.
I am proud of this team. I am thankful for this season. And I am excited for what the future holds for Lady War Eagle softball.
