Meet our team! Next up is Ruth, a Cat 1 mountain bike racer and Cat 4 cyclocross athlete from the Chicago suburbs of Illinois.

Ruth has been racing mountain bikes for six years and recently added gravel and cyclocross to her schedule. When she’s not on a bike, she enjoys writing music, sewing, archery, learning about aircraft, and spending time talking about her faith.

Her favorite local ride is around Barrington, Illinois, and her favorite race is the US Pro Cup at Soldier Hollow in Utah. She especially admires the American women helping grow and strengthen the sport of cycling.

One of Ruth’s favorite things about Great Lakes Cycling is the family atmosphere. She knows she can always count on her coaches and teammates for support. After a race, you’ll find her recovering with Skratch Labs: Fuel + Hydration Horchata Recovery Mix and plenty of electrolytes.

Ruth started mountain biking in seventh grade when she showed up to a team time trial after only her second time on a mountain bike. She nearly threw up afterward—but somehow got hooked! Since then, cycling has taken her to races in five states, earned her UCI points, and introduced her to lifelong friends.

Most recently, Ruth has been recovering from a broken collarbone and thumb suffered while racing in Arkansas. Her outlook on cycling is simple: be yourself, race with integrity, and remember that your competitors can also become your friends.

We’re proud to have Ruth on our team!

Meet our team! Next up is Nora Rogers from Appleton, WI! Nora races mountain bikes in the WORS Kids Comp 7-8 category and already has an impressive cycling resume for such a young rider.

Her favorite local place to ride is Standing Rocks in Stevens Point, and when race season rolls around, she especially looks forward to WORS Eau Claire and Englewood. One of her favorite things about being on the team is getting to race and play with her friends, which is exactly what youth cycling should be about!

After crossing the finish line, Nora has a simple recovery strategy: ice cream!! We can’t argue with that choice.

Nora’s cycling journey started early. She raced her first Ore to Shore Junior race when she was just 3½ years old and by age 5 had already won the Ore to Shore Junior Girls 5 & Under race. Cycling has also given her opportunities to meet some incredible riders, including Keegan Swenson Payton Swenson, Alexey Vermeulen and Hannah Rae Otto

When her family travels for biking adventures, Bentonville, Arkansas is one of her favorite destinations. She especially loves riding Leopard’s Loop and the All-American Jump Line. Her outlook on cycling is refreshingly simple: she likes to have fun riding her bike. We think that’s a pretty great philosophy.

We’re excited to watch Nora continue to grow as a rider and make more memories on two wheels. Our team is lucky to have her!

Meet our team! Next up is - a 15 yr old mountain bike athlete (with a little road thrown in). Introduced to mountain biking by her dad, Kaitlyn’s been riding since she was 9 years old and when not cycling enjoys spending time with her family and friends hiking, drawing and traveling.

This year, she’s racing the series in Sport 15-18, and also loves riding locally at Winman Trails, Mt Telemark and Silver Lake Park. Her favorite race is the Cable Conquest Festival and all the WORS races.

Kaitlyn’s favorite things about cycling are that it keeps her in great shape, it’s really fun and it’s the way she’s met many amazing people, including her best friend - and amazing coaches and teammates. While on the team, she has enjoyed volunteering and learning from her coaches to get stronger!

After a race, her favorite thing to do is have and sleep! Through cycling, she’s gotten to travel all around Wisconsin, checking out new trails. Last year at a race she was in line for a top 10 finish when she hit a rock and popped her tire - which led to her running the last 3 miles of the race - and she still ended up coming in 37th out of 50!

We love the way Kaitlyn thinks about this sport - she says she looks at mountain biking as a self-powered roller coaster! It’s great exercise and so much fun. Kaitlyn is central to our team’s success!

Meet our athletes! is a 15-16 cat 2 racer in Mountain Bike and Cyclocross. He hails from Franklin, WI and when not on a bike likes to ride four wheelers and play pool.

His favorite local spot to ride is Alpha Trails, and his favorite race is Englewood Open - where he recently raced and probably cooled off with a right after.

Kaden’s favorite pro rider is - excellent choice! His personal cycling outlook is to remember you’re only as tough as you tell yourself you are.

He likes being on our team because he loves to ride bikes with his friends. His favorite place to go ride away from home is Fayetteville, Arkansas for the best and most numerous trails that are a ton of fun. Our team is stronger with Kaden on the roster!
