4 reasons you’re stuck on the wall and none of them are strength.

It happens to almost everyone, and it's rarely a strength problem.

Most plateaus come down to footwork, where your feet land, how much weight you trust them with, whether you're looking at the next hold before you move.

1. You're moving your hand before your eyes
Most climbers reach for the next hold first and scramble their feet to catch up after. The foot lands wherever it lands instead of where it should. Spot the foothold first, then move.

2. Your foot is near the hold, not on it
Resting a foot close to a foothold isn't the same as loading weight onto it. If you can't feel the transfer through that foot, your arms are still doing the work your legs were supposed to take over.

3. Your feet are loud
Stomping, scuffing, or resetting twice on the same hold costs energy and balance both. It's not a speed problem, it's a precision problem. One clean placement beats three rushed ones.

4. Your arms are bent when they don't need to be
Straight arms let your skeleton hold your weight instead of your muscles. Bent arms on a route that doesn't call for it usually means the legs aren't pulling their share.
