Successful weekend of wrestling for the Cougars! We had three tournaments on Saturday and it was a blast!!

Girls Varsity wrestled tough at Batavia, they took 13th out of 32 teams. Aliyaah Campos wrestled very well taking 2nd, and Keira Enright dominated the competition pinning her way through the bracket taking 1st place!!

JV boys had 6 placers led by Javi Flores with a 1st place finish. Brad Surwillo took 2nd place at 160, Caden Pierceall and AJ Blatchford took 3rd at 132 and 182. Logan Deprey and Ian Portillo took 4th at 170 and HWT.

The freshman level was led by Chase Pierceall, who took first place out scoring his opponents 52-5 overall. Jakub Kowal took first as well pinning his way through his bracket. Austin Cory and Brody McBride wrestled very hard all day to take 2nd place and Huggo Perez took 4th place.

We are proud with how much improvement the team has had this season. Time for our final push as there is only a couple of weeks left!

A big thank you to the community for all of the support! We are going to use fundraiser money for singlets, warm ups, and team gear. Without you the upcoming renovations would not be possible! We look forward to the future and finishing this season strong! Our donation fundraiser is still open for the next two days.

The girls had a strong showing at Batavia High School last night! Both Aliyaah Campos and Teagan Aurich went 2-0 with 2 pins! Congrats to Gabi Mardula on getting a pin as well! Great job girls!!

Dvorak 2022 was a great time! Everyone showed a lot of heart and had a great time competing! The coaching staff is happy to see the team supporting each other matches and having fun! Congrats to Rudy Silva on finishing 8th and Matthew Janiak on finishing 4th!! Each day we are improving!

Also a shout out to Sam Guzman for making it to the blood round and giving it his all every match!

First competition is tonight at Oak Forest High School! Wrestling starts at 5:00pm, we will be wrestling against Andrew, Lincoln Way East and Oak Forest. We will be at Barrington this Friday and Saturday for a tournament! We look forward to a good first week of competition! Go Cougars!!
