Last night, our Naperville Diamonds 11U girls had the opportunity to take the field under the lights at Parkway Bank Sports Complex, and what an experience it was! Thanks to Coach Mike Berk from the Warrenville Missfits for giving us the opportunity. We had a professional photographer so more to come.

We didn’t come away with the win, but sometimes the biggest victories have nothing to do with the final score.

For these girls, it was about playing in a professional stadium, warming up in the bullpen, hearing their names announced, seeing their own picture on the scoreboard, walking up to the plate with their own music, and getting to feel like the big leaguer.

Years from now, they probably won’t remember the score. But they’ll remember the lights, the excitement, their teammates, and the feeling of stepping onto that field together.

At this age, our job is to not only give these girls the proper training they need to develop but also to give them experiences and memories they can cherish and that fuel the passion for this amazing sport. This team is not set up to chase wins and rings, and there’s certainly times we wish that we were during some tough development games. We will keep progressing and hopefully the future gives them that opportunity.

There’s a lot more to come this year and appreciate all of our sponsors support for helping us!

Thanks to Coach Mike Berk for setting it up and was great playing the Darien KnockOuts 11U Slomski and Joyce teams. Our player of the game for the tournament were Gabby Arnold, Isabelle Maciejewski, and Raegan Lefevfour, great job girls!
