Mission:
Atypical Athletics mission is to provide personal athletic training to children and adults who have developmental/physical disabilities. We believe this population has been overlooked and underserved in the fitness community. We strive to make fitness fun while encouraging healthy lifestyles and building self esteem and sense of community.

Who we serve:
Clients with a range of diagnoses including but not limited to... Autism, aspergers, Down syndrome, ADHD, cerebral palsy, cracked chromosome, as well as a wide range of physical disabilities.

Benefits:
The benefits of physical exercise are widespread and well known. Exercise not only helps children and adults better engage in the environment, but it also helps promote weight loss and leads to better overall health. There are a wide variety of exercises that are used to increase coordination, strength, endurance, and body awareness. All of this as well as gaining competence and confidence in physical activity and creating a sense of community, not only between atypical peers, but also with service providers, parents and all neurotypicals.

What we offer:
Atypical Athletics offers one on one personal training (in house and/or in gym) for children and adults that tailors workouts to each client specifically. These exercise plans are created based on client needs, goals and level of ability. The goal is to make every workout a fun and positive experience. We train clients that want to gain basic knowledge of exercise and physical activity at the fundamental level all the way up to those who participate in the Special Olympics and Paralympics to foster their talent and abilities in their sport of choice.

We are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive and enjoyable experience for our clients in helping them reach all of their goals. No matter how big or small. We celebrate our clients achievements while fostering their natural abilities. Each client is given a fitness screen to evaluate where they stand upon starting a program, are provided one on one support and instruction during training sessions and are given all the tools necessary to become competent as well as confident in physical exercise. Above all, we truly believe that those in the atypical community deserve the same attention, respect and support in becoming the happiest and healthiest they can be!

We've given you tutorials on how to do some basic exercises and now it's time for your first official workout challenge. This is the official Atypical Athletics Spiderman Sampler Workout! This is an all bodyweight workout that you can implement weights with if you wish! We are so excited to get in shape along with each of you for the new year!
