This time of year, a lot of people head into the woods searching for the ever-elusive morel mushroom. But while morels get most of the attention, there are plenty of easier finds right along the trail—like garlic mustard—that can be just as tasty and just as rewarding.

The leaves of the garlic mustard plant have a garlicky, peppery flavor and work perfectly in sauces like pesto or chimichurri.

I wrote a short post about it and included two simple recipes.
