Welcoming the Lunar New Year ✨
This workshop fuses mindfulness with movement to welcome the Lunar New Year. Together, we will explore and practice traditions for the Lunar New Year, while also setting intentions for the year ahead.
Wednesday, February 18th, 8 PM - Link in bio to register ✅
Opening & Context: The workshop begins with a brief grounding and arrival, followed by an overview of the Lunar New Year, the four major lunar phases (new moon, first quarter, full moon, last quarter), the symbolism of the Year of the Fire Horse, and 2026 as a Numerology Year 1. This section sets the thematic foundation of renewal, leadership, and new beginnings.
Release & Intention-Setting Ritual: Students participate in a guided release ritual to let go of outdated habits or beliefs, followed by intention setting aligned with the Year of One and Fire Horse themes of courage and self-leadership. Reflection is done quietly and individually to support emotional safety and focus. 
Lunar-Inspired Yoga Practice: A thoughtfully sequenced yoga practice moves through grounding, strength-building, expansion, and integration, inspired by the lunar phases and Fire Horse energy. The practice emphasizes steady momentum, strong standing poses, heart-opening postures, and accessible modifications, making it suitable for a range of experience levels.
Closing Meditation & Integration: The workshop concludes with a guided meditation and visualization to seal intentions, followed by a brief closing reflection. Students are encouraged to carry their intention forward as they move through the new lunar cycle.

In this workshop, we will explore a variety of drills and fundamental exercises for core strength and spinal stabilization, as well as advanced massage techniques to release muscular tension. This class is perfect for beginners and advanced practitioners looking to improve core strength, increase spinal flexibility, and soothe their low backs.
Disclaimer: This workshop is not intended for chronic pain, pregnant, or anyone suffering from degenerative disk disease.

With the holiday week upon us, ASCEND will be operating on a modified schedule from Wednesday to Friday. Keep an eye on the Yoga schedule as some classes will be canceled:

- Wednesday, 11/26 - All classes after 8 PM are canceled.
- Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) - All classes are canceled.
- Friday, 11/28 - All classes before 10 AM are canceled.

First up, Monday evening Rest + Renew with (8:30pm, South Side). A few words from Cassie herself on this new offering…
“As we descend deeper into autumn, we are invited inward. Stillness recalibrates the nervous system and restorative yoga increases heart rate variability improving our vagal tone. This gives us a higher capacity to navigate stress, challenge, and change. Time alone with the body and breath builds resilience, so we can become steadier and more present for ourselves and in our relationships. Taking responsibility for your inner landscape is a profound way to deepen our understanding of the now. Restorative practices strengthen our ability to respond, rather than react, as we practice clearing the slate with stillness and returning to our breath.

Experience the benefits of self-myofascial release techniques to alleviate muscle knots and tightness with the use of tennis balls and other yoga props.

Fall is upon us 🍁 A few friendly reminders as we embrace the season ahead:

- We highly recommend registering for class in advance.
- If you advance register & later find you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration so others can fill your spot in class.
- Please keep in mind the start time of class & try to arrive a few minutes early to settle in. We recognize life happens, but please be mindful of the instructor’s & your fellow classmates’ time by having your mat ready to go when class is set to begin.
- While we always encourage class participants to stay for the entirety of class, if you know that you will need to step out early, please alert the instructor in advance. If possible, please set your mat near the exit to minimize disruption.
- Please silence your cell phone & store it away from your mat. If for some reason you need to keep your phone with you during class, please alert the instructor before the start of class.
- Everyone appreciates a tidy yoga space & we all can help to make that happen by avoiding shoes on the studio floor, cleaning up any food or drink spills, and stowing props in their designated homes after class.
No mater what happens though, we love you 🫶

A staple event of ASCEND Yoga, reimagined at Velum Fermentation, right downstairs of our South Side gym! A few notes:
* It’s free for all but please register in advance at the link in bio. Everyone participating needs their own ticket, please only reserve a spot for yourself! If you want to take this class with a friend, share this post with them! (Reserving spots for others tremendously slows down the check-in process the day of, since the staff will need to register them before the class starts.)
* Bring your own mat. (We have a very limited amount to borrow.)
* All participants must have an ASCEND waiver completed. This can be done ahead of time via our website.

ASCEND is seeking experienced instructors for a cross-disciplinary yoga program. The Studio at ASCEND offers a full schedule of varied yoga classes and workshops led by experienced and dedicated teachers. All classes will help students develop, maintain, and progress their yoga and meditation practice, while focusing on proper alignment and form. All instructors will be responsible for providing clients with a safe and exceptional class experience, fostering a supportive environment with clients and among the instructor team and across all departments of ASCEND, and marketing and growing their classes.
