I said what I said, but hear me out.

This is not how I would address a client- obvi. its also important to note that this could have been because a previous instructor didn’t guide well, or the client chose a class outside of their ability wheelhouse or they didn’t disclose a previous injury, etc. the reasons are endless.

What I WILL standby is that it is very much my job to make sure my clients are moving well and safely and understand their own ability levels.

There’s craziness out there in internet world- please don’t let that distract you as an instructor from what is IMPORTANT. You don’t need to make insane choreography choices for your class because you saw it on IG and need people to ‘like’ your classes.

Stick to your guns, be smart and don’t get over influenced in 2026.

Maintaining strength as you age doesn’t have to be rocket science. You just need to want it, even just a little bit. So start small with this series. 2 times a day, 2.5 minutes to do all five movements. Show up for yourself and I’ll be there to cheer you on!

Another surgery day is upon us. Harlan heads into his fourth surgery this morning.
He is just the bravest kid to me. I think if you ask any parents of children who have endured any kind of medical hardship they would say the same thing. They manage this resilience but also still retain the innocence of being a kid. It’s amazing, really.
Anyway, if you have a moment to devote to well wishes this morning, we will take all the prayers and positive thoughts to come our way. We send our own prayers and thoughts to any other families experiencing their own medical difficulties as well.
We will keep everyone posted!

Taking a moment to relish this wonderful life with my family.

Copper Crane will be running an abbreviated schedule through August 14th as I travel Europe with my loved ones.

Next week will feature a brand new teacher, , who is diligently pursuing her comprehensive certification. $15 teacher training classes happening next week on Tuesday and Thursday. Email me for an add in!

I pressed ‘PAUSE’ on social this weekend for my sweet girl’s very first dance recital!

Coming from a professional performing background. This moment is so loaded for me. I have wanted this for her for years, but only if she wanted it for herself. I wanted her to have fun, be excited and enjoy dancing because it’s what she wanted to do.

Cue the water works as she proudly came out on stage, did her very best and had the greatest time being a part of the show. My ❤️ is so full.

The biggest thanks and just basically bowing down to the amazing .pilato and her fabulous studio for being a nurturing, loving and technique building studio. I am one discerning mama for my little one in this arena and I cannot recommend Lisa and her studio enough.
These kids are happy, safe, strong, technical and freaking AMAZING dancers. I won’t send my girl anywhere else.

It's word like these 🤍 I’m so grateful for all my wonderful clients, both in studio and virtual, that have given me the possibility to do what I love from my very own home. It is truly the best gift ever!

A few weeks ago I braved the bitter New England cold and had my very first ski experience. I’m 38... and up until that day I had never, ever thought I would try this sport.

Let me explain — after years of professional dancing, where I was literally scared sh*tless that I would hurt myself beyond repair and not dance again, I finally closed the door on that career. I was in my 30’s and not terribly interested in learning a new sport. But then we moved to New Hampshire and had kids and so here I am. A 38 year old strapping sticks to her feet and flinging herself down a (small) mountain.

It’s times like these that I thank my stars for my knowledge of movement.

I am strong enough to try something new. I was aware of myself and how to keep myself safe while barreling down a mountain.

So this is my PSA — please go do something (maybe Pilates) that gives you confidence to move well and always continue moving forward!
