With soccer coming back to life with the trees, birds, and bees, we'd like to share our full mission statement with our followers, friends, parents, athletes, and potential team members. We look forward to seeing everyone soon:
We are a non-profit soccer club dedicated to help young athletes, ages 3-17, achieve their goals on and off of the pitch throughout the Mon Valley. Our focus is to teach athletes "the beautiful game", as well as, necessary life skills.
Our organization, instills confidence and leadership with discipline while still being fun for the young athletes to enjoy themselves in practice and in games. We teach the necessity of teamwork in the game for the success of the team not just the individual. With a focus on the team, each individual achieves greater personal success as well. Teaching hardwork over talent is necessary to achieve their goals and dreams on the pitch and in life.
Beyond teamwork, our program includes training methods and techniques used by football/soccer clubs from around the world, that help athletes at every level, from beginners all the way to the pros. We take careful concideration to age appropriate intensity of practices and skill level ability. As they grow in coordination and size the practices, drills, skills, and game play will, as well.
On the surface, soccer is a simple, fun game. To be successful on the pitch as they grow, their skill level needs to grow, too. There is a lot of technique to handle the varying situations a player encounters in a game. We teach the skills they'll need to handle these situations effectively. Proper techniques for kicking the ball for passing, striking, and the different long balls. Teaching the variety of techniques to handle the ball for various situations, positions, plays, footwork skills, jukes, fients, rules, on field vision, etc... Everything a player needs to successful on the pitch. We include the latest techniques of strength and agility training to improve top speed, acceleration, changing in direction, and overall explosiveness.
As they players develop in our in-house recreational league. They'll have opportunities to try out for our travel teams, and test their abilities against other local clubs and beyond. Our commitment to the athletes goes beyond our organization with our college recruitment program. For the individual, with the desire and commitment, we have teamed up with some local college coaches to give seminars on what they are looking for in players, and what is expected of them, if they wish to pursue soccer beyond our club and high school.
Our commitment to our athletes is to be successful and have fun in "the beautiful game" and in the beautiful game of life.
