Most beginners struggle with side breathing because they only turn their FACE instead of rolling their BODY.

You need to “open the window”

When your shoulder stays underwater:
❌ Neck pain
❌ Hard breathing
❌ Panic and tension

Instead:
✅ Roll your chest to the side
✅ Let the shoulder clear the water
✅ Rest your head on the opposite arm

That’s how smooth freestyle breathing starts.

How to Float Without Water Going in Your Nose

Learning to float on your back starts with one simple rule:
keep your chin slightly higher than your forehead.

If your forehead starts getting wet near the hairline, that’s far enough back. Go farther and your eyes, nose, and mouth may start going underwater.

This beginner swimming tip helps nervous swimmers relax and breathe easier while floating on their back.

Water keeps hitting your face in backstroke?

Exhausted mid-lap? Here's your reset.

This is the one arm pineapple and it's the drill that changed everything for swimmers struggling with side breathing.

Roll to your side → stretch one arm out in front → use it as a pillow for your head → breathe.

You can hold this position for as long as you need. No stopping, no standing up. Just kick and breathe.

Perfect if you're:
🔵 Learning side breathing
🔵 Getting tired mid-lap
🔵 Transitioning from pineapple float
