Well I’ve been doing softball for a long time and I stay impressed with this team and the young ladies that are on it. They showed grit and determination this weekend in some serious heat and competition. We played a very good Voodo 14u team for almost three hours and came out on top 17-15. Macy Herbert pitched a 7 and 1/3 innings to help her team with the win!! I will post the highlights of the game!! It was a battle till the end!! Louisiana Smoke played their hearts out this weekend and came up short in the championship against a very talented Prime team after we just played a three hour game against Voodo 14u. Proud coaches for sure. We were missing one of our girls this weekend, Allie Hoffman. We also lost our first baseman Addy Dutton due to a ham string injury. Both young ladies were greatly missed.

This weekend was something special. Watching our Louisiana Smoke softball team compete, you could see exactly what they’re made of—determination, grit, and heart. Every inning, every play, they showed up ready to fight, support each other, and leave it all on the field. That kind of effort can’t be taught—it comes from within, and this group has it.

I couldn’t be more proud of these young ladies. They’re not just growing as players, they’re growing as teammates and competitors, and it shows in the way they carry themselves through both the highs and the tough moments.

And it’s not just the players—this team is backed by an incredible group of parents who bring the same energy, support, and commitment. That kind of environment makes all the difference.

Excited doesn’t even cover it. Proud is an understatement. This group is something special, and I’m thankful to be a part of it.

Had a good weekend of ball. Saw some great things out of this group and trust me I bounced them around on defense both days. It's awesome to have so many pitchers, catchers, and utility players on one team. great things to come for these ladies in their softball journey!! Of course we have some work to do because we can always improve. First tournament in the books. Great job ladies. Louisiana Smoke Fastpitch 2k11-12.
