🏓 𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐋, 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄? 🏓

We want to remind everyone that the Ward 9 Sports Complex has six excellent pickleball courts that are open to the public! We’re glad to see more people taking advantage of the facility and enjoying what our community has to offer.

Our lights go off at 11:00 PM, and with the recent influx of raw athletes coming to play, we wanted to remind everyone of a few things:

🤺We know sports can get competitive. Tempers can flare. But it’s never worth ending up in jail over a game of pickleball.

🍩Showing your buddy you can do donuts in your dads truck? Cool trick but not worth going to jail.

⚒️Tearing up property that doesn’t belong to you? Definitely not cool and definitely not worth going to jail.

🐢Got a Turtlebox speaker that can shake the windows? That’s neat but remember, there’s a residential area not far from the courts, and sound travels.

🚔We will be making extra patrols of the area, and anyone who violates the law will be held accountable. If your kids are going to the complex and you aren’t there with them, please make sure they understand the difference between right and wrong and the importance of respecting the facility and the surrounding neighborhood.

We know what playing pickleball means to a regular civilian. We have no idea what it means behind bars.

Long story short: Enjoy the courts. Enjoy the competition. Enjoy our community. Just make good choices.

You may have seen the social media posts circulating recently that games are being moved to Thursday nights. Many of those posts cite a shortage of officials as the reason for the schedule change. Unfortunately, that is the reality we are currently facing; not just locally, but state and even nationwide.

It doesn’t have to be this way… you can help! Join today.

We will continue to take new registrations until August 18th. Come to the Pineville High School library tonight 6:00-7:15 to learn more!

Remember, we are now offering camping spots at Buhlow Lake! Whether you’re just traveling through or planning to stay for a few days, reservations can be made by contacting the Parks and Recreation office during business hours at 318-449-5671, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 3 PM.
