Cihuapactli Collective A COLLABORATIVE SPACE FOR INDIGENOUS WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN TO SHARE WISDOM ABOUT HEALTH & WELLNESS, ANCESTRAL FOODS, PRENATAL, BIRTHING, AND POSTPARTUM

Cihuapactli’s (womens’ medicina) vision is nurtured by Indigenous women and our semillitas as a collaborative effort to share knowledge and wisdom about health & wellness, traditional foods, art & expression, as well as ancestral/traditional prenatal, birthing, postpartum, and womb wellness. We envision un mundo donde quepan muchos mundos, a Zapatista inspired worldview. We understand that the legacies of colonialism and patriarchy continuously perpetuate our collective dignity. As such, we ask that each of us be inclusive to all muxeres without judgement. We are composed of women of all ages, stay-at-home mothers, queer families, health educators, youth, activistas, artists, students, doulas, midwives, promotoras, mujeres en academia, and the list continues! We meet via platicas, play dates, workshops and provide safe space for healing as we address the challenges of being Indigena and juggling life!

Con muchísimo gusto, we are so happy to share that you can now find Lydia Martinez stationery items at our tiendita! Lydia makes beautiful seed cover journals and bookmarks, and puts together packs of pencils with Nahuatl words engraved in them so we can continue to live and breathe our culture through our writing and reading every day in our lives.

These make the perfect gifts and daily items to carry with us as we make notes or write poems. Come see them in person at our tiendita Tuesday - Friday 12pm-6pm or Saturdays 10am - 2pm.

In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we honor these little spirits that are no longer with us Earthside and the mothers & birthing people who carried them. 🕯️

Today and everyday we remember our little ancestors, the babies that came to this earth for just a moments.

A death binder offers a clear plan and emergency information for loved ones or caregivers. 💜

Join us to dedicate time to completing your Death Binder and to answer any questions you may have. We are excited to gather as a community for these important conversations and enjoy a potluck meal together. We invite you to bring a dish to share with everyone.

Please bring all your certificates, asset information, legal documents, financial records, and health information to make copies for your binder. The more documents you have, the better prepared you’ll be.

We encourage you to register as soon as possible! We want to provide you with instructions and documents to prepare for the day. We will provide printed packets of the Death Binder and Life Care Planning materials. You will also have access to our copier to make copies of any documents.

We are pleased to announce that we will provide free Notary Services. Please bring valid, unexpired identification (U.S. or foreign) if you would like your documents notarized.

The Cihuapactli Collective was at the 1st Spike for Strength Volleyball Tournament today!!

The Tonalpahqui team shared words with both parents and athletes around mental health and substance use prevention along with collaborators South Mountain WORKS & Dr. Murphy.

This was a dream of our young comadrita Yolehua, who dreamt a day of volleyball and mental health conversations & activities for her and other young girls in Phoenix. These are the most challenging times for our youth, their mental health and overall wellness matters. 🙏🏽

A special thanks to our Cihuapactli Collective comadres & compadres who came through to support. 💗

So proud of all the teams. Each one of the ladies gave it their all!! Many thanks to the cchsgirlsvolleyball_ and to Roosevelt School District No. 66 for the support! 🏐

A big shout out and thanks to the coaches and parents for spending the day with us and supporting their athletes on their journey. 🙌🏽

Thank you to the food vendors Desert Rose Coffee, LaGran Papota and acrelotes for nurturing everyone throughout the day. 😋

We look forward to more opportunities to bring people together for a strong and healthy community. ✊🏽

We are pleased to share that we will be having one last Death Comadre Training for the year starting November 7th!

This will be virtual and you’ll be spending 5 Saturdays with us live on zoom with our Death Comadre team learning about the sacred transitions and business of death.

Whether you’re interested in learning how to navigate this stage of life for yourself, family or loved ones or you feel called to do this work for the greater community, this is a step toward better understanding and preparing yourself for holding, walking, grieving and supporting someone through these inevitable sacred transitions with so much dignity.
