I always thought my digestion would improve when I finally found the perfect supplement, or when a test would finally show something was wrong.
Hiđđź Iâm Lindsey Lindsey | GUT HEALTH & HOLISTIC WELLNESS COACH former nurse practitioner turned gut health coach after years of personal struggle before finally healing my gut + having total food freedom.
Turns out.. the biggest difference in my overall digestion came from doing a few simple things that make a big impact over time.
1. I check in with myself.
A few times a day I pause and ask, âWhat do I need right now?â Slowing down and practicing the pause has been one of the biggest improvements for my digestion.
2. I take a few minutes each morning for myself (usually.. if you have kids, ya you knowđ)
Coffee. Prayer. Stillness. Breathwork. Even 5 minutes helps set the tone for my entire day
3. I prioritize protein and fiber at every meal.
Protein gets all the hype, but fiber is just as important for feeding your gut bacteria and keeping digestion moving. It can be a challenge for some to get fiber in, but once you do itâs a game changer.

4. I keep meals and hydration consistent.
Instead of skipping meals or trying to âcatch upâ later, I aim for regular meals and steady water intake throughout the day. Your gut loves consistency. This helps keep our digestion steady.
5. I keep food neutral.
No âgoodâ foods. No âbadâ foods. Just patterns over time. Most of my meals support my goals, which also means I can enjoy fun foods without guilt.
6. I get outside every morning.
Even 5-10 minutes of sunlight within the first hour of waking helps- it regulates my bodyâs internal clock, improves my sleep, and keeps my nervous system and digestion happier throughout the day.
None of these are fancy.
But after 20+ years of digestive issues⌠these simple habits have made the biggest difference.
